I’ve been playing Rust on and off for over 8 years and this short was how I found out SAM turrets can shoot down MLRS rockets, not just helis/balloons… I might be a dunce

So when I played rust animals would run up 90 degree angles and if you hit exit the game would crash… what the hell has been going on

Learning new shit. Haven’t been too much into rust in a while and didn’t even know about mlrs rockets… and when I found out about that, still didn’t know you could defend from them with sams. Not that I play in pvp servers. I’m an old man that’s too lazy to deal with raiding and pvp. Zombieland Outbreak/infection pve is the best way to play. No more logging in after 2 days of hard farming to find you got off lined by some sweaty 14 year olds.

Iv also found building a small secondary base, it could just be an 2×2 woth some wood high walls. With 3 Sam’s on top helps, build it a decent distance away from your main base, still within sight tho, in the direction of the MLRS site, so that base will intercept the missles on the way to your base

Effectively you’ll get two sets of Sam’s and might not even get hit by two missles in the end. You dint even need loot in that base, just set it up with power and go put stuff in the TC for upkeep

I remember when the most advanced tech in rust was a AK with a shovel hand stock. Heck I remember when there was zombies. I haven’t play rust since around when they added the safe zones and at this point getting back into it is daunting. Not to mention I’m not really a fan of all this high tech. I like the more low tech survival feel.

That’s weird, I’ve used 2 sam sites to protect against 12 rocket salvos several times actually, just have them hooked up to their own dedicated battery with a turbine for them alone and I find they do wonders

There is a circuit for the sams to rapidfire and fast-targeting. Don’t remember who made a vid about it, but it increases firerate by something like 2-3x, it cycles the power to the sams so they fire fast
