Rust is just a bunch of Minecraft kids ever so often do I actually run into adults and even then they’re not toxic like the kids

This feels like the perfect opportunity to finally turn the “noob-friendly” servers into a real, fully fleshed-out game mode. I love the idea of having a community that supports you, so why not make a mode where players can create laws—or choose from a set of laws—and then vote on them? The game could feel different every time based on the rules the community picks.

For example, you could vote in a rule that says no PvP unless both players shoot at each other first. But it would only be implemented if the majority voted for it. You could imagine an unlimited number of potential rules, all automatically enforced using new LLM-powered systems.

That way, every server could feel like a unique world—especially because the rules are democratically chosen. I could see people even forming political parties that go beyond their clans, creating a whole meta-game of alliances and campaigning.

It could really mix things up: some servers could be more noob-friendly with gentler rules, while others could be harder or have wild, unpredictable rule sets. The variety could keep things fresh and make the experience feel dynamic every time you log in.

I want a realistic time-of-day night/day cycle– 12 hrs of dark 12 of light, including a realistic dusk and dawn. I’ve also dreamt of a server that’s 100% night all the time, I played 3k+ hrs of Rust, the only game I played in the past decade, and stopped once the game started to be like every other survival FPS, I wish Rust had more sparse modes, instead of being Fortnite+

– No tech tree
– No team UI
– Fog of war map
Maybe old recoil, or increase recoil by 50% lol

Did anyone ask for increased upkeep? Uncraftable guns? We just want teamui gone and fog of war. They purposefully create bad secondary gamemodes like riot did with twisted treeline. Then they have an excuse to rugpull us when they ‘magically’ fail to be popular. “Well, you didn’t actually want these changes when we offered!” It’s such a crock.

All these updates have ruined Rust and the survival aspect of the game and now they’re tweaking the home page of the game and made it look ugly. Classic Mode is needed or a brand new Rust game is needed.

Not liking the foggy environments, just looks dull, hazy dark and foggy. Had this been in the game from the start, probably wouldn’t have played the game beyond a month. The new gen graphics are a disastrous update for me and not the game I once loved.

There are so many rust like mobile games, copied from rust, i m glad they decided to make the mobile version. I dont know if its gonna be like different games, or like you can log into same server and progress through mobile or pc vice versa.

I want to see a 1 life mode. I think it would massively change how the game is played and would be quite interesting.

I would love to see…

1. PVEVP (Segregated PVP and PVE zones). Monuments would have large pvp zones around them. Roughly 50% of the map quadrants would be PVP but increased resources are in those map sections. PVE zones would be close to the beach Bases can be built and raided in PVP zones, but only one TC allowed per zone which also extends to Party/Clan/those allowed on the initial TC. Bases built in PVE zones are unraidable. Building limit imposed per TC to save performance on the servers. Triple the amount of resources needed to craft explosives (anything that be used for raiding). Basically it would be like those OTK Rust Streams which lulled its viewers into buying Rust thinking thats what the game was like. Then they played it and realized it was digital Lord of the Flies.

2. Escape from Rust. I know borderline plagiarism, but hey man Fortnite was a blatant knock off of PubG and now they’re a powerhouse in the industry. Rust is so maleable that if Facepunch chose to, they could easily expand into other genres including the extraction genre by releasing official modes. The modding community is amazing dont get me wrong but community/modded servers are fleeting sometimes. Almost MMO like long term progress thats saved on Officials would be amazing for some of these ideas, especially something like PVEVP. Facepunch would just have to do a large marketing campaign or maybe even sponsor some streamed event.

3. Chivalry 2’s melee combat recreated in Primitive. Good god that would be amazing.

I’m wondering why noone ever speaks about the fact, that it sucks that you can’t sort servers after their age. I can’t be the only one that finds this sucking.😅

game mode idea: escalation. first 30% of wipe tech 1 only (including loot), next 30% tech 2 included, then tech 3

I want a Rust frontier (time period) mode, only revolvers, bolt action rifles and lever/pump action shotguns. Low tech things like vehicles (motorbikes and cars) but no drones or mini copters. I’m not 100% sure on events like Cargo or the oils would work if at all

An arcade mode where it’s solo only where everybody has the same amount of building materials and raiding materials and guns to start spawn locations would be randomized all over the map did the only way to progress would be through through raiding and killing other players

I do sometimes think about playing again, I have it installed…but then I remember I am not into masochism, don’t hate myself and enjoy happiness , all things Rust is or does to you. I just want them to put more effort into the other modes. Take prim for example. Messing with the meta by adding auto-crossbows with horse armour, not adding any official servers outside of NA/EU regions and making none of the siege stuff specific to that mode made it all very…meh.

You should put a watermark in one of the corners to if someone steals your video they’re going to either have to leave it or crop it out of the video which will make it more obviously stolen.

I feel like the compass in normal rust is used more for the degrees of rotation for callouts rather than the cardinal directions, the item feels somewhat useless to me.

Ammo is 5x more expensive. Raiding cost remains the same. GG Facepunch, it’s cheaper to raid random bases to steal their ammo instead of making it.
