After playing the demo, I’m just now realizing how much this trailer spoiled.
I’ve come here after numerous playthroughs of the demo and at 1:20 those pair of legs are suspicious. Anabella probably produced a kid with the emperor is my guess since it’s at the the minimum at least 13 years later. Possibly more if Clive is in his 30s at that point. Lets see if I’m right in a couple of days.

The english voice acting is superb, FOR ONCE. I really dig clive and joshuas voice actingespecially, but everyone else sounds more decent than the usual. Theyve really outdone themselves

I bet the game looks great. I didn’t even watch the video. I just came to a PlayStation page to rant and complain about your exclusive titles. You’re trying to buy money by having exclusive titles, but also trying to stop Microsoft acquiring Activision Blizzard because you’re scared they might make exclusive titles. I hope they get their purchase and do exactly what you fear, because your company deserves it. Final Fantasy is my favorite game series, and I’m boycotting because you’re being greedy. Behave for three years and I’ll consider buying something from PlayStation and Square Enix. Until then, I wish both companies the worst.

Okay, this looks like a huge improvement compared to Final Fantasy 15, but based on the trailers, Final Fantasy 16 definitely doesn’t look like it’s going to follow the traditional Final Fantasy formula, which is a group of unique characters team up, go on an adventure across the different fantasy landscapes while fighting off enemies along the way, and save the world. If anything, this kind of feels more like a mix between Game Of Thrones and Final Fantasy. And isn’t Final Fantasy supposed to be Rated T for Teen at the most, instead of Rated M for Mature?
The part of this video where a female’s eyes turned yellow immediately reminds me of the ending of that Kingdom hearts birth by sleep trailer (I wonder if this is one of the many reasons that SE inserted this into this new title.) The actual gameplay looks like it could be promising, let’s just hope that they spend more time with making both combat more fluid and ironing out game breaking glitches/bugs so they can avoid another FFXV launch “like” disaster.

I can now see the controversy why people are complaining that the game is just made up of white people. They basically are showing different kingdoms encompassing different regions and the characters generically look the same; one of the kingdoms looks like it takes place in the desert; that could of been opportunity to use middle eastern characters. I think the creator mention that the game lack of diversity was because the entire setting was base on medieval Europe; which from the trailer looks far from it. I probably will not be playing the game because it looks too generic fantasy

Dalmacia, Rosaria? Those were cities and/or states from ff12 if i am not mistaken and the isolated kingdom (ivalice?) Seemed to hold a character that looked a lot like vaan. Maybe I’m just seeing things here, bit it would be interesting if the kingdom symbolize a different final fantasy game

This game looks boring. When they gonna make one that resembles FF9? There’s no variety, just all humanoids.
Am I the only one that is worried about this game? Not only it deviates in gameplay but in tone as well. It kind of loses the classic FF charm and ramps up the dark gritty tone of western games focused on action and flashy movements. I can’t visualize this game using the chocobo theme. I’m all about mature themes in my media, but it feels off with FF, looks like they’re trying to please western audiences and attract new players.

it’s SO refreshing to see a proper mainline, non-MMO final fantasy game finally set back again in a medieval/fantasy type world. the last time we’ve had something like this was from 9 and 12. i love it! it really does remind me of final fantasy 9, especially the summons. i still remember the bahamut and alexander scene, and it’s giving me the same vibes!

This trailer blew anything from Konami and Capcom out of the water. If this is really as huge as it’s been implying on its website and what we’re seeing, then we’ll be getting the physically biggest game in Final Fantasy history. An actual world map with not only large cities, but also surrounding towns and villages. The kind of grand, global scale that the PS1 and SNES games provided, on modern hardware.
What’s making the biggest impression for me is the sheer confidence that Yoshi-P and his team are exhibiting. These trailers give the impression that they know beyond doubt that they’re making something great. Potentially it could be the creative authority that Square’s been desperately needing for a long time now.

Since the Crytaline Dominion was the only Nation not mentioned in this Trailer, I think it is pretty likely that they are the true villains. They are in the center of the world and thus protected from the Blight and manipulating the other Nations into warring against each other while they pretend to be neutral.

Not a fan of the graphics, looks too much like an updated version of 14. Doesn’t give me high quality console game vibes. Obviously for an online game they want as many pc’s to run their game. For console you should be able to make the most out of it, push it to its limits. Other than that I’m pretty hyped for it. The cutscenes that are not in game graphics look really solid though. I guess the characters in game just look too much like FF14 to me this is probably what’s throwing me off. I’m sure I’ll get used to it when I’m actively playing it.

I just want parties like old FF games. Where I had control over all characters. Something like FFVII remake combat. I hated FFXV’s combat. It was dull and boring. The weapons all felt the same. Each character had the same look and personality almost. They didn’t given us control of the party during combat until way after release. FF games had characters with colorful looks and personalities. I mean one dude had a chocobo living in his hair. FFXV and SoP have been both big let downs for me. This doesn’t seem much better with combat. Have to wait and see.

As a 39 years old man here. Graphics (Environments) are very very beautiful. However, the music is not sharp , compared to Nobuo Uematsu even Yoko Shimomura. Music sounds like old-fashioned movie without excitement.

Besides the characters (save for cloud), I love nearly everything about the FF7 remake. Combat is flashy and strategic, the music is cathartic, their spin on traditional turn-based formula and affinity is genius, the world is grandiose and dystopian and Tifa of course. Yes, I’m aware that these are Japanese games and it wouldn’t be Final Fantasy without some of that flair, but this entry seems far more mature so it would be nice if they could mediate some of that goofiness.

Without giving into the hype, I do dig this. The voice acting sounds freaking awesome, but it doesn’t seem to match with the characters’ mouth movements somehow? They’re synced up but feel strangely disconnected.
Also is anyone else picking up a hint of Drakengard from the setting?

I still cant believe this is made on the same engine that was gutted to bring FFXIV to life.
Luminous Engine had several features and functions cut when FFXIV was being developed and the fact that they were able to get this level of quality out of it while supporting PBR on it is mind blowing.
It makes me really excited to see what they plan on doing with the next Expansion of FFXIV if this is what their doing with it the engine.
I already know they plan on updating the graphics for FFXIV on the next expansion and have seen a small snippet of the improvements, but if they can get around PS4 limitations, it would be insane to see an MMO with this much detail.
We have the hardware now ( on both Base PS4/Pro/PS5 and PC) to really start pushing the standards of what an MMO can look like

The landscapes look fantastic but the character models feel a bit outdated, especially the faces. And the blood at 2:22 and 2:44 looks more like paint.

I think they should work a little on their spatial audio for environmental things, like the summoning, cuz it sounded a bit flat, but could also just be YT stereo processing… FF has always had great visual presentation, but the audio always falls short, where things feel muted compared to the scale of the event. Doom is the exact opposite, where everything is bass boosted and oversaturated, the perfect middle ground is something more in the lines of CDPR’s games, Witcher 3 and CP2077 had fantastic spatial sound, where effects sounded realistically scaled and directionally accurate.
As an Xbox fan, this looks amazing. Might pick me up a PS5 if I see one anywhere.

Well, that looked quite generic… From the costumes to the environments, nothing seems to have an actual design. To be honest I’m quite happy to see that smaller companies that made games such as Black Myth: Wukong or even A Plague Tale: Requiem seem to have so much more quality in every aspect than this Triple A budget game.

Confirmed: the super weapons of each nation are similar to junchuriki (host of the Bijuu) of Naruto fame. Outcasts who are feared but needed to win war.
The hosts even have weaker forms where they draw out smaller amounts of power from their “summons” (Bijuu or demon in Naruto) to fight in an enhanced form.

This is already the best game I have ever played.
Every single FF game since XII or XIII feels the same.
After 2:40 things went from 60-100 really quick! The music, animation, action, emotions, etc. went wild!! Definitely looking forward to this game!
I am more and more happy that the main theme will concern the summons in the form of Dominants that reminds me of what Naruto did with the bijū, which is one of the things that I like most in the anime.
I’m always a little skeptical of the character writing in these games but everything else looks pretty awesome.

Every character just looks so serious, there doesn’t seem to be much room for joy here? And that’s kind of always been a central aesthetic that Final Fantasy has gone for: hope in the face of annihilation. This seems to be veering too close to Game of Thrones-style “Everything needs to be serious and depressing”. Where’s the heart in all this? I’m hoping the game has some of that to actually offer but it’s not coming through in the trailers.

In Naruto’s case, Tailed Beasts are past down from generation to generation, and some stolen. Some fight for peace, some rap and dilly dally about, and some just want to destroy everything.
I love it. Guess we’ll see where FF XVI takes us for a ride. Can’t wait to get my hands on this game.

So from what I can see, I think it took inspiration from Attack on Titan with the Summons, or I think they call it Eikons here, it gets passed down to their children, just like the 9 titans gets passed down to whoever devours them. I think it’s pretty cool concepts that the Eikon shifter can turn into FF summons! Looking forward to this game

Maybe all main characters (human) in this game slowly turn into summon form in other final fantasy, they appearance as human looks like shiva, ifrith golem and maybe leviathan
The way I look at it, each summoner has the ability to completely change into one or merge the summon with your weapon or armor 🤔 If that’s the case Bahamut Megaflare Blade attack can be 👀
I know thi game won’t be open world, but I’m hoping it’s a little more open than ff7 remake. The whole open world concept is what made final fantasy games my favorite.

You can really tell the people behind making trailers for AAA titles do not play video games much, but if the people funding them think advertising the game as a movie is how they want to be perceived – I’ll withhold my interest and just hope it’s not another game where you hold a button to win.
