Hugo is a long boss fight. His first phase is when he smashed the throne. His second phase is when Clive and Hugo are under the floors. His third phase is his Titan form. His fourth phase is his Titan Lost form. His faith is inside the Titan Lost with Titan in him

Love how this fight goes from the most epic orchestral mix to a damn Nine Inch Nails song just like that!!! This fight is truly a marvel of gaming.

This fight gives Asura’s Wrath a run for its money but god damn does it drag.

NOTHING will compare to doing this fight for the first time. I was actually shaking by the end of it. It was like an hour long and my brain was busy both freaking out trying not to die while also absolutely jamming out to the music. I would sell my soul to do it again for the first time.

I love how when it comes to Titan, Soken really just can’t help himself.

This fight is reallu cool too bad it also like really starts the sheer level of immersion breaking the eikon fights are. Where they look cool but the sheer devastation they create just aren’t depicted.

Normally I’m not a fan of QTE heavy fights.

Final fantasy 16’s are an exception to me. Even in Final Fantasy mode, the prompts are easy to understand and they advance the fight in spectacular ways while making it feel like you are doing something.

FFXVI’s bosses are still a wild concept to me, no FF went as hard and as insane as this one, and certainly no FF even thought of going this hard in the boss fights. XVI’s new direction may be divisive to fans, but for me, this is a step in the right direction, and would like to see CBUIII handle FFXVII in the future.

Industrial Country music was a wild choice.

At first, I was a bit disappointed that Find the Flame only plays for “The Truth” scene but uhh. This is a great replacement. This slaps 🔥

The fact that Ifrit is visibly shitting himself when he sees Titan Lost but still decides to charge at him at full speed anyways is the perfect balance between funny and awesome

This song was such a far cry from typical FF tracks. Honestly caught me by surprise

As much as i appreciate how much better ff16 is compared to the last two (or three if your really spicy) black sheeps of the franchise, its a bit dissapointing how very much ff14-2 the game is. It just feels like an extension to 14, story, gameplay AND even the UI (seriously, they even put in, essentially, the /survey an item, area, object from it). Havent finished the game yet so my opinions may change but the side quests are truly a slog imo. If I wanted to run around talking to 6 faceless npcs who send me on fetch quests to learn about how they, and only they, live in this world id go play 14, not this.

That being said, I love the little nods to 14 that arent so blatant. Monk and Ninja moves from 14 being used by enemies, this theme in particular being a huge reference to titans theme in 14, others i cant think of off the top of my head (which is a good thing, they should just add to the experience as a loveletter to 14 fans and not completely overtake the games identity).

Kinda wish all the eikon fights had themes that stand out like this one. Thankfully i didnt hop onto the hype train so im not serverely dissapointed but overall its just been a very acceptable game. I hope the ending will help change my perspective of the game overall.

The Titan fight is the one I remember most.

I have just done this boss fight and I shit you not at some point I said out loud “Holy fuck he’s still alive?!?” By far one of the best boss fights I’ve ever played.

Funny how in the JP version they call him Devil Titan. Seems very fitting if you think about this in DMC terms.
