Thing is playing through FFXVI for the first time I will say this much EVERYTHING Clive does in Tekken 8 is a lore reference and Clive himself is swimming in lore but only a chosen number know this.

When Clive was revealed as dlc, I was so curious about him already. Like he looks so cool man, after that I was trying to discover the FF16 lore. Even Though I can’t play the game, I just watch some gameplays on yt just to know the story about Clive. Turns out I start enjoying it and love the character so much. The story touches me and it was an amazing experience discovering the game. Thanks Bamco for this, I’m sub maining Clive now xd

Tekken Team don’t miss with the effort they put into their guest DLCs.
And Clive, from the interviews to the actual game, you can tell they had a lot of passion with this one.
Was impressed with how much of the actual games moves (whether gameplay or from cutscene) was adapted for T8.

Even though i did not approve him in T8, i can see it was a good conversion. Never played FF16 too, so this comparison worked to convince me. Thank you for the video.

The TK team so far proved to have high artistic sensibility to make excellent conversions of guest characters to the game, which must be challenging in the sense of the gameplay. Only good works from Akuma to Clive. So that actually makes me more eager to see guests that finally fit the game.

As much as I’m not a fan of Clive’s inclusion in Tekken 8, I gotta say the Tekken Team did a fantastic job transitioning from the original source material.

Tbh I would absolutely love a new Dissidia game made from the Tekken team. Personally to me I just think Tekken should really focus on legacy characters. Mind you I did enjoy noctis since he rather fit really well, and was from a world where it’s more modern in parallels with the Tekken universe.

But yeah a new Dissidia from BandaiNamco would be pretty sick ngl.

I appreciate artistic design but the gameplay design is absolutely horrendous

Clive’s face looks a bit odd in Tekken compared to FF16 where he looks more like a sad puppy, but everything else is truly solid and really shows how much care, thought and effort they put into him in Tekken. I don’t think I’ve seen a guest character receive this amount of love in a fighting game. Clive also fits so much considering the character arc of Jin in T8, I always thought they were similar when I played the story mode. Good job!
