I have never played FF16, but this news is exciting. I’m glad, so it’s a pity for me that many people are disappointed.

The problem is those weapon characters are free from counter skills(ex>asuka back 1+3).
They are making game much harder to play, especially to former characters.

They did good job with Clive when it comes to how he looks, how he moves, the stage, and all that jazz. What I don’t like, is that this he is a weapon user. I’m sick and tired of seeing characters like Yoshimitsu, Noctis and Victor in a game where everyone else – a vast majority of the cast – fight unarmed. Clive would have been a superb addition to Soul Calibur. In Tekken however, he feels really, really out of place – and not just because he fights using sword and magic, but because his whole aesthetic; he doesn’t feel like he belongs with the rest of the cast in any shape or form.

To put it short, he looks to be very well designed fighting game character, but in a wrong game.

But this is just my opinion, and I believe everyone has the right to have their own.

Look I didnt really like it when Clive got in instead of Tifa, but please tell me that Tifa was already planned to be in but failed. I would accept Clive as compensation since i played the game too

Either character wouldn’t make much of a difference anyway since Final Fantasy is an iconic series with many iconic characters. I wanted Tifa in Tekken because as she’s a brawler, she’d fit in nicely. Knowing the video information now, I am much more accepting of Clive’s inclusion since it seems they already had this set in stone before anyone realized. I can’t argue that he does look really cool in this. Hopefully Tifa can get a chance in the future though. 🙏

I love how majority of the people here would swallow everything that comes out of harada. He clearly said that the last dlc will not be a guest character. It’s not just about tifa not. It’s about clive being the least qualified and expected. Not to mention ff16 released a year and a half ago already. I’m not saying i want tifa, but her fighting style and her game being more recent makes much more sense that this one. He also said that heihachi is totally dead yet he charged all of us for his dlc. The first 3 dlcs are legacy characters. Eddy who should have been at launch in the first place. Lidia who we already paid for twice now. And heihachi who should have been dead. The man is constantly lying blatantly to your faces and you’re celebrating it. Just because you’re a fan of something doesn’t mean everything about it has to be accepted openly, especially because you are investing time and money on it. Think about that.

This was the worst move Bandai Namco couldve made. No disrespect to Square Enix but Clive shouldnt be in Tekken 8. Soul Calibur is more fitting.

People who are genuinely complaining about Tifa not being the guest character do annoy me quite a bit, especially when hey say “no one asked for this dude” or “FF16 is a dead game”. Like isn’t the whole point of a collaboration to bring interest towards something? Im sure Tifa and any major character from FF7 have way more than enough recognition. I personally never finished FF16 but after seeing all the cool stuff Clive is doing it brought my interest for the game back and not only do I want to try him in Tekken I also want to finish his game because he looks SICK. I also wanted Tifa, I didn’t like FF16 much but I thought Clive was the one thing that stood out in the game and was what kept me playing it for as long as I did and to add Torgal into his moves just like FF16 was the chefs kiss.

I guess I’ll be that guy who’s on the other spectrum. Tekken 8 has changed the whole name of the game when it comes to Tekken as a martial arts game. Almost everyone has powers now, RA, heat burst, heat smash, heat dash, armor moves, etc. t8 has really changed direction to where scummy monetization and flashy cinematic and combos take precedence over actual gameplay. I’ve never played VF but idk man my expectations for T8 just keeps disappointing me the more they try to release something.

Ive never been drawn in by Final Fantasy, but id be lying if I said this character didnt look like so much fun to play. I originally states that I wouldnt be too excited if Tifa joined the game, and I definitely thought she would be the one you wouldve chosen, so this was a wonderful surprise! The more medieval style of Clive reminds me of something like Castlevania, which really resonates with me! Great Job teams!!

Here me out. Even BLAITHH THE HALF WOLF from elden ring would have been better. He could be a heavy weight sword wielder with an extremely intricate moveset, heavily relying on sword stances and parries, while not having strong movement. He can however have a strong leap attack like dvj but it has to have counter options to it. Make him a complex character. Then they could have given us an actual snow winter stage as it fits perfectly with his devotion to ranni the witch who is a master of the dark moon. Hes just as niche as clive is, and at least I would be happy lmfao.

Told my cousin, who doesn’t play Tekken but plays FF more than I do (I’m somewhat old school with FFVIII and IX), and she was like: “They could have used Hugo Kupka? He only uses fists.” So yeah, that would have been a compromise between Tifa and FFXVI – if the martial artist aspect of Tifa ever was the actual reason.

Seeing this content, I appreciate both of the staff team’s efforts for bringing in Clive. You worked hard! 💪

I almost bought T8 last night because it is on sale, but then I saw the Clive trailer and decided to save my money. I don’t like that Harada lied *again* when he said getting FF characters in T8 would be hard and not really in line with the Tekken franchise. Only to turn around and then drop a FF character that literally nobody wanted or asked for anyways. I wasn’t crazy for Tifa in T8 either, but there was definitely more hype and interest for her, and she is a much better fit stylistically.

Im tired of the haters. I love seeing Clive, my favourite protagonist of all recent FF games, in Tekken 8.

If it was on a new Soulcalibur game, I would be happy… but not in Tekken, a game litteraly named “iron fist”. This franchise has enough non fitting characters who are using weapons. If they really wants a partnership with square, they’ve some others better fitting character. I’m gratefull of the annoncement of a new Virtua Fighter.

Watch out for the flood of negative reviews on this dlc as if this will sell to new casual players when the base players are disappointed. Deluxe / Ultimate edition owners got scammed.

I just dont understand why namco will never add tifa to tek! Its always some edgy sword weilder. Clive is pretty cool and all but dang, tifa honestly would’ve been the better choice and no not just because of her looks but because of her great martial arts skills.

I will take another perspective why they choose clive instead tifa :
1. tifa is not main character, so if she is get implamanted she is probally will only have small moveset.

If they want make tifa have enough moveset like others character it will takes many times to give her a new ability.

2.FF XVI actually have not good in sales even this is a good game, so they want make this game can still giving a profit.

3. Clive and noctis still have similiar moveset so it will easy for them to develop clive in fighting games rather than Tifa.

But i hope you guys listen they reason why they cant choose Tifa, but this is still S1 maybe Tifa will come in S2? Who knows right?

Aside from my hype dying from not knowing who he is, his animations and attacks look sick and much cooler than Noctis
