Back the day, FF was on Nintendo, then it moved to Sony due to FF7 needing the storage capacity of CD-ROMs that Nintendo couldn’t match. And when Microsoft dropped the 360, that was the beginning of the multimedia box and the death of the true gaming console, and Sony copied them. The 90’s 2000’s was great for consoles. Games like Abe’s Odyssey on Xbox, Crash Bandicoot on Playstation, Luigi’s Mansion and Zelda on Game Cube, those were 1st party exclusive games and they SOLD systems. Now it doesn’t matter anymore.

I think going fully multi-plat will be very beneficial for both Square Enix and the IPs they’ve created.

Imagine when the day comes , and all boxes from every company run every single game regardless what is the brand name on it! ( just like PC market) If i buy movie on a blue ray disc , it doesn’t matter if i pop the disc in to a Sony , or a Samsung blue-ray player , the movie will play . The same should happen with a game , it shouldn’t matter which box i use ! With physical media going away , most of us got converted easily because of the convince factor, but we got fooled! I’m a PC and Xbox guy, and have NEVER played a final Fantasy game. If they showed up on Gamepass then I would at least try them.

They annoucned 10 million sales combined for all platforms, and we can see the steam sales world wide but can’t see the psn sales for china or us yet. (the last time was ff13 trilogy, 7-10, 12, 15) and now 14 and crisis core. I hope to see pixel remaster, ff16 and ff7 remake(its been over 4 years)

Also we have tales of grace F remaster, suikodean 1&2 remastered, and for the first time ever the Atelier sereis is coming to xbox via Atelier Yumia in 2025, the HORI Taiko no Tatsujin Drum Controller is coming to xbox(the base game is coming out as well) , Castlevania Dominus Collection is out for the xbox and tomorrow Visions of Mana is coming out for the xbox (first new console release of mana game since 2006) and Front Mission 2 remake on xbox. Recently grandia hd collection hit the xbox as well.

So xbox is eating good when it comes to japanese games in 2024 and 2025. It can get better once Megaman Battle network collection, and capcom fighting collection 2 can come to the xbox (I hope xbox is working with them) same with Black Myth Wukong. As for phantom blade zero, no one officially has said anything about a xbox version (their was a rumor a few weeks ago but that was squashed quickly )
