These games never sound right in English the voices just don’t match the characters like they do with the Japanese voice actors. Sounds more like a character that belongs in game of thrones than in final fantasy tbh, not saying the voice acting isn’t great but it just feels misplaced in this series.

Overall one of IGNs better reviews. Mostly fair, generaly keeps his personal bias out of it, with a few exceptions. A rarity from IGN, but a pleasent suprise.

Only way would be better is if Zelda didnt get a pass for its performance and lackluster sidequests. Not hating on Zelda but it does seem like bias from the reviewers that Zelda gets passes for things like that but other franchises don’t. And for some reason the bias just seems more prevalent this year, though thats probably because Zelda’s performance issues is a very well known problem with the game so the letting it pass stands out more than normal.

Guys was just watching a honest review of someone and they said this game is the worst of 2023??
He explained in this game there is no strategy in combat you can mash your way through any enemy.
And he explained if there is a fire enemy you can still use fire there in no such element immunity/ damage..
So is it true could IGN be overeating this game?

IGN loses all credibility for rating Tears of the Overrated higher than this. Square is actually being innovative and trying something completely new not only for this franchise, but in gaming in general. That alone deserves a better score, its just total bias at this point.

Running near stable 60fps during combat and sub 30 during exploration is a much better “creative choice” than 30fps combat especially if the game offers first person combat. This should be viewed no different than 60fps gameplay with 30fps cutscenes and you guys should use this as an example for Todd to rethink is “creative choice” with 30fps first person combat but of course media bias will view it differently to damage control Srarfield because theyre fans of Todd and don’t want his “creative choice” to fail.

With that said, HFW on the Decima engine has no excuses and proves we should expect better from studios like Square and Bethesda who stick with their old engines.

Ffxv played better than 7 remake the largest problem with 15 was maybe the story and weapon balance.

They learned their lesson with 15 to not be too ambitious. People want a single player campaign or all multiplayer, not a little of both, and we definitely don’t need unnecessary game systems to clutter the world to make it feel full. Once again I’m forced to ask myself why Asians white wash themselves when it comes to games, anime and media in general outside of nonfiction movies. Literally none of the characters in these games appear Asian. They all are white and/or have predominantly white features. Same with Naruto, Goku (turns into an aryan warrior when taking things seriously) etc.
