I just woke up and this was in my head.

I like to think that Joshua was never actually ill. But rather that his body was simply acclimating to Phoenix’s power, and that had he survived the battle with Ifrit and been able to return to normal, that he would no longer have been so frail or sickly, and his body would be much more sturdy and healthy. As if Phoenix’s power allowed Joshua to shed his old frail body, and gain a far healthier and tougher one.

Why the modern games always have opera/choir xD?

Looking back at this moment, and ahead, I’m glad the story took the direction it did between Phoenix and Ifrit. We got Game of Thrones and a bit more.

It’s a common trope for the protagonist to rise above their own self doubts in moments of conflict, but the way they play this out with Joshua is perfect. In just the span of the prologue he goes from a sympathetic victim of circumstance into a younger sibling you’re proud of and cheering on.

I love the sound here. It sounds desperate, like “only a short time remains until catastrophe.” I was nearly in tears during this fight. I knew how it was going to end, but I still wanted to hope for Joshua’s victory.

business unit 3 IS the studio for final fantasy, by far the best VA in the whole franchise (im sorry, i like american VA most of the time, but damn they suck in j-rpg games, always sounds like an Ad or just anime, british VA fits better this type of games, way more natural), the soundtrack is an instant classic (and made with a man fightint with cancer, you can notice this “if i pass away, i will make my best work yet), ladies and gentleman THIS IS the return of Final Fantasy as THE j-rpg)

Just so all people know, Clive was NOT the Ifrit that killed Joshua (Phoenix). In the “Revenge” trailer, there’s a segment showing two Ifrit’s fighting each other. There is apparently more than one Ifrit, to the shock of many in-game.
