ivalice forever. i love it. it’s such a great setting with the zodiacs. the bosses, the combats, the sweeping stories. ff6 beats it all by a little bit because the game is legit rpg perfection. if you were alive when ff6 and chrono trigger dropped and just blew everyone’s fucking minds, you knew it was the golden age of video game rpgs. i couldn’t even read the texts and i still was hooked for hours, on a system i was sharing with siblings with a cartridge i was borrowing from the video store with my pocket money.

also i kinda hate tetsuya nomura’s whole design schtick. unsurprisingly all my favorite ff have two of my favorite artists (Y. Amano and A. Yoshida) as lead artists.

FF1 is the Best. If there wasn’t a 1 there wouldn’t be any after that!

Tactics is the correct answer, best gameplay and story. 10, 9, 7 for the core series. Anything after 10 is not worrh playing with 13 being by far the worst, 15 a close second.

everyone I know says 12 is their favorite as well. I’ve never played it because I got super burnt out by playing Final Fantasy X for like 1000 hours. I keep meaning to play 12, but I never get around to it.

Final Fantasy 6, will always be the best Final Fantasy. From the opening with the walk to Narsh to the very End. It has Uematsu’s best-ever soundtrack, “Dancing Mad” his Magnum Opus. An amazing cast of characters from main characters to side characters, plus the greatest villain ever, in Kefka. Also, how do you compete against a game where you can Suplex a train?

i was a fan of 12 having the most comprehensive plot of all of the games, seeing as it’s pretty much point for point the plot and story beats of Star Wars: New Hope. Which was a refreshing change for me, when playing a JRPG. I remember thinking “Holy shit! I actually know what the hell is going on here!”

I loved 12. As someone who played hardcore early days 11 and knew the importance of buffs, debuffs, and micro managing, as well as KOTOR’s pause system, I adored 12.

I remember when I first played FF12, I was 18 at the time and outside of the combat didnt have that much appreciation for it. As i’ve grown older though 12 has grown on me substantially in all aspects, actually played through it again last year.

The Gambit system is what got me interested in AI and programming (not the awful newer AI things going on as a note). It is between 12 and 14 for my favorite FF game.

Final fantasy 6 and 9 are the best IMO. Then 10, 7 and 12. And I love FF 12’s combat system, wish they evolved upon it. Only xenoblade chronicles comes close to it.

Fighting yiazmat with gambit is really good, i just set the gambit, and my characters demolish it like 2 hour. And i just watch them while eat dinner.

Once you’ve beaten Yiazmat, your life is forever changed. Just to get his quest alone is freaking insane without using walkthroughs then there’s the boss fight itself. It took me 21 hours straight, no glitching, to kill him. I keep falling asleep after the 12 hour mark but thank god for the gambit system.

8 is my favorite but I loved 10. I cried like a little bitch at the end.

FFTA for the GBA. I was so addicted to that game. I even reached one hundred percent completion my second game. It unlocked a special ending for it.

Yes! XII was ahead of it’s time and so underrated, every game these days I just wish has the Gambit System because of it

12 was my FAVORITE

The adjustable AI is something that really needs to be experimented with more. When I first saw it, I thought this could make for a really in-depth level of combat if you could automatically make the AI do something in specific circumstances or when certain enemies have certain status effects. From the simple “Use lighting on flying enemies” if that did more damage to being able to do situational combos on their own with attacks and spells.

Big fan of 12s combat i liked being able to plan out how my companions would focus their time in battle without having to individually choose each attack in real time

Final fantasy 12 was my introduction to the series and I loved it so much. It still holds up after having replayed the zodiac age remake
