Final Fantasy I~XVI

8と12かな、印象に残ってて、特別楽しく感じたのは…ジャンクションとガンビット！

ジョブ、7のマテリア、8のジャンクション、10の戦闘中交代制、12のガンビット、とかどれも楽しかった。

海外の方々はちゃんとFF12をプレイして評価してくれるから本当に嬉しい

12大好きです！BGMもフィールドも冒険してる感、ファンタジー感があってワクワクしました！ガンヒットシステムは戦闘が苦手な自分にとってめちゃくちゃありがたいシステムでした。

ストーリーは確かに賛否両論だけど、続編のレヴァナント・ウィングでヴァンはしっかり主人公してて、そのあとA2で有名な空賊として名を馳せてて感動しました！
個人的には12で『パンネロのテーマ』って題名だったBGMがA2で『東から来た空賊』って題名になってるのが最高にエモいのです！

くそ。FF6の時だけなぜかゲロマズいポーションを想像してしまう…

1から7までは神作それ以外は外伝でまたいい作品だと個人的に思う

FFVIII is my childhood game and my first PC game back in 2000. For a kid from Asia play the game with English dictionary its took me many playthrough/years to understand all the game and maybe that why i love that game so much.
Fisherman’s Horizon is my chill tune since then.

Don’t hate me for this, but I’ve never liked the ATB battle system at all. That’s why I’d say FFX and FFXV are my favorites. However, FFXIII is the exception – I just really like it for some reason

I started with 13, but I think 13-2 was the better one out of the 13 series. Story wise, could be desired more. Was much shorter than 13 but not as detailed at 13LR. But I was more enjoyable imo. Seeing the evolution of the battles. It was really cool. Seemed like it wasn’t a FF game once 13 hit but eh. I enjoyed them regardless

Honestly the best battle system is ffxv, it reminds me more of nier automata and other action games. I played ff 1, 7 through lightning returns, and ffxv and while i used to love the whole turn based mechanic, i just can’t do it anymore. My love for the turn based battle system in rpgs changed after i played Witcher 3, still my absolute favorite game of all time.

Final Fantasy X-2 had the best ATB. A lot of tactics were involved like timing your attacks to chain with a party member’s slower charged attack, status effects were super important to exploit enemy patterns, you could interrupt or be interrupted and items were balanced to be fast but generally weak vs healing magic being powerful but slow. Also, it was the first time Squaresoft/Square-Enix actually took something and innovated instead of outright reinventing the wheel like they do with every game.

4 and 9 has the same battle and win theme.. its just improvise on some notes 😂

Battle system was getting better and better till FFX. Then it broken with Dirge of Cerberus and “action wannabe”, after that its long sad story about making battles more and more stupid button smashing where from XV they inserted mobile “auto battling” when game literally play itself and that’s the bottom of the series, together with ff7 remake which is abomination.
Anyways where FFX left Persona taken over 🙂

I find it kind of funny that Square-Enix decided to make a trilogy out one the worse gameplays in the franchise, FFXIII was just awful, the battle system, the UI you name it…

FF VI – FF X was the prime of the FF battle systems. I wish we could at least get a spinoff series with a higher budget, than what went into World of Final Fantasy and a more serious take than World of Final Fantasy, I am Satsuna and the like, that at least puts out a game I can look forward to every 5 years or so.

While I understand that a lot of people love the new battle systems, they are just not for me. I loved to learn the FF battle systems back in the day. Especially the battle system of FF X was really deep and while it can be exploited a lot, it brought some of the coolest boss battles, before I knew how to exploit it.
I miss this depth in action based battle systems.

For me a game that has a party with more than 2 members, has to be turn based. I want to control the party in battle, else the party feels just irrelevant. If the game has no party, I like it as ARPG. Why should I go through menus with just one character. If there is just one character I’d rather control him directly. Pokemon is the only exception to this rule.
If the party has 2 members, it really depends. In my opinion it’s a bad party size, because in turn based combat it feels like you are missing characters to be really strategic. In an ARPG you will have one sidekick you never play with. It basically becomes just a Skyrim type companion.

I know a lot of you have different takes on this, but this is, what I noticed about my own preferences.

I kinda don’t really understand what’s bad about XIII, I enjoyed it more than XII, I got bored midway because of the grind needed, but again, I played XIV like hell, back then when I still subscribed only for 90days but my playtime is at 40ish days already.

1997 is when everything went wrong.

I just realized that I went through 10 Final Fantasy games (not including FF: Mystic Quest and FF Tactics), as they came out, before I was even legally able to drink in the US.

It has stopped being FF after the X..

To me, I have always categorized 1-6 as the “Classic Era” and 7-15 as the “Modern Era” not just for the systems the games were on but also for how the battle systems played out for each game.

Should have included the different normal battle musics from the FFXIV game’s expansions, as they are different to each other

Honestly I like the action combat from the modern entries and FF7R waay better than turn based or “standing action”
I loved ff8 back in the day but the combat felt stale and boring

Im a big simp for FFX and FFX2, from amazing way of showing tutorials, music, character developments and boss fights I TRULY AM PRAYING for the game to get a remake so that we can enjoy simple stuff such as open world, bigger dive into past and other stuff!

通して見ると全シリーズそれぞれ良さがあるなあ。個人的にはⅣ、Ⅴ、Ⅵがどストライクだけど

I found it funny that the example for FFXIV is a level 1 archer spamming it’s only ability while back stepping.

The ine thing i will never forget is im out hunting in ffXV and i hear “magitek engin. It’s close” because it happens every single time.

It is a portal for one to explore and breath .. the Ivalician air.. to learn its lore, fights its beasts, tread its lands, and meet its people.
There will never be another like it again…
