This section is freaking LEGENDARY. The sheer spectacle of these fights puts any other FF to shame. Titan in FF15 WISHES his fight was even a tenth as cool as this.

As someone who saw none of the advertising material, I lost my shit when Ifrit started running. I was expecting to see a cool cutscene of him running into combat range, but then the scene switched to gameplay. That surprise plus the insane theme hyped me up so much.

Run like Jimmy Pesto Jr up Titan’s tendrils as you avoid his rocks and crystals and blast fire at him, all whilst the music reminisces Final Fantasy 14? And that’s just the start of it before the track goes full on Landslide as we plummet into the big bastard with his own severed tendril? Yeah this might just be one of those bosses we’ll be talking about for years to come.

Personally im so glad that Ifrit has his moment in the spotlight in this game, in other FF games i played, hes a threat but is still very weak compared to other Eikons like Bahamut or Shiva, but in this game he is THE eikon you need to fear and i love it

The Primals play Under the Weight every chance they get, Eden Titan is a Transformer for no reason at all, and in XVI Soken ignored the rest of the soundtrack and said “come on man, its Titan” while the fight is the most spectacular and diverse in the game (get outta here with your Zettaflares)

Normally I’m not surprised by difference in opinion, but I can’t believe the quantity of people that would rather have forgettable orchestra slush than standouts like this.

Clive is alone, already worn out, and a LITERAL mountain just grew in front of him that wants to kill him. Sure he’s Ifrit but this is an odds against him situation. “It’s do or die” because there is no running from this. His singular option is to get to Kupka faster than Kupka gets to him. This music embodies the entire concept of sprint to the finisher.
In comparison using orchestra here would seem completely out of place.

When this game has aged most people won’t remember majority of the music pieces used, but they will for sure remember this. 👍🏻

Had to come back to this fight after finally completing 16. For me this fight is the sickest and best Clive fight out of all the boss fights in the game. The scale is like no other in the game. The boss fights past this one have lots of color and eye candy but none of them were as long and huge as this one.

Aside from the amazing soundtrack one thing I loved about this fight is the absolutely amazing reference they took from Attack on Titan with the way Ifrit just goes and keeps running reminding me all those times we see the Attack Titan simply not stopping with its rampage and pretty much evolving during them. My GOTY for fucking sure

When you think about it this is the last boss that base Ifrit defeats, so it was the perfect send-off before Ifrit Risen became the standard. It shows just how much Ifrit on his own is capable of doing and going any further would be excessive

This was by far the most epic and gigantic battle in the game.

Lost my mind last night playing this. What an absolute masterpiece and insane boss fight. The scale of the fight, the bangers back to back to back to back, the graphics. SOKEN AND SQUARE YOU MADLADS! After playing that ifrit fight and realizing how long it had been since we fought an eikon they teased us with the first kupka fight and then they finally gave us this.

This fight was insane, every time I thought “ah I finally beat it that was incredible!” Nope another phase was around the corner that was better than the last! People also say that the Bahamut fight is even better(haven’t gotten that far into the game yet) and all I can say is HOW!!??

As soon as I heard it, I started singing the 14 Titan theme, even when it didn’t match the track

I wouldn’t be surprised if this song (at least, the first half) is titled “Do or Die”.

There’s something really special about seeing a 100ft tall monster move with that much agility.

I kinda wish all the Eikon fights had music like this, the orchestral pieces are nice, but Typhon and Titan Lost are just the exceptional fights to me, I wish each Eikon had a different genre of music attached to them

Words can’t even describe how GREAT this whole sequence felt to play. The Scale, the Music, the BADASSNESS… It’s still probably fairly far off from the Ending (at least according to my Game Completion and Time stats on the PS5 Home Screen) but the fact that this final confrontation against an Antagonist we’ve been seeing and hating for like the entire game up till that point feels like the end of the game even though it isn’t which is how it should feel. Similar circumstances in other games never fulfill you like this does which is what makes it so damn amazing… Literally had to put the game down and go take a breather after 😅

To the FF fans who haven’t played DMC 4, this fight is a direct reference/remake of Dante vs Saviour fight. The music, the parkour, the shifting platforms. That fight in DMC 4 has HEAVILY HATED because it was poorly made due to production issues. Since the combat director is the guy from DMC, I feel like they tried to redeem themselves with this fight and it’s safe to say, they definitely succeeded.

As someone who’s played 14, it was fun to compare which Eikon/Primal had the better theme
I still think 14 beats out most of them but for Ifrit, Garuda and Titan – I’d argue they have better themes here in 16. I’d have loved to see how 16 would’ve transformed some of the 14 Primals into Eikon fights, especially the likes of Hades or Susano.
