I’ve played every main line FF since I started with ff7. I kinda ignored ff16 for quite a while because it didn’t particularily pique my interest.
I bought it on a whim, am now about 10 hours into it and damn… its a great experience.

Honestly, making this a “traditional” Final Fantasy game likely would’ve been a disservice to the story. Being able to actively control Ifrit is one of the best gaming experiences in existence, and really could only be done well with modern gaming. *This* is what gaming is *supposed* to be!

Also, I think this is the best the Eikons have ever looked! All of them look *incredible!*

When Clive said “You’re not Ifrit. I am” when he came to terms with his demons, felt chills down my spine and literally screamed “Hell Yeah!” Im not done with the game yet but it os quickly climbing the ranks as an all time favorite next to final fantasy xv. And i am all for it!

This is what fighting your inner demons SHOULD sound like

Notice how Ifrits imitation can’t damage Clive’s incarnation into Ifirt, even while clearly hitting him, all because he accepted the truth and thus it can’t hurt him since he already came to term with it.

That finish where he cuts ifrit in half slides to a stop flips the sword and slams it into the ground is the sickest finish pose.

This boss is in a way, the first of the 3 major plot crescendo’s in the the game, the second being the death of titan and the third being ultimas fight and the end of the game. And thd score really does do it justice, it is such an epic track.

FF16 is hilarious. Ifrit got so tired of being a low tier summon, he made the entire game about breaking the brakes off every other summon – including himself – and stealing their drip.

Happy everyone is loving this game. I personally couldn’t get into it. Music is great though

People who complain about this not being Final Fantasy need to get with the times. Not everyone still wants turn based combat. After playing over a dozen FF games I was over it and wanted something similar to what we got with 16. The game is beautiful and the series is definitely not dead. Multiple series that have a ton of success have changed their formula over the past decade and every time a new game comes out there’s always a few who cry “dead series/game” yet a lot of them went on to become some of the greatest games in their respective series and even the highest selling games in their series. Final Fantasy has taken their leap of faith and like it or not the majority of people and critics like it so deal with it if you don’t go play tactics or something and quit trying to piss in everyone else’s cheerios

While I haven’t beaten the game yet (most recent boss I’ve fought was Bahamut), this was my favorite boss so far!

My god man, just played this. And this nowhere near halfway into the game. I BEEN ASKING FOR A NEXT GEN pS5 experience and this fight is exactly what I needed.

Was bopping my head to this and it was absolutely incredible. One of the best ways to show what accepting your truth and fighting your demons looks like for people. It’s never that simple.

Press L3 + R3 to accept the truth. Trully one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

This battle is a masterclass on how do a boss battle. You have the emotional weight behind it, the epicness of the transformation, and the score. This one in particular gives me goosebumps.

Final fantasy isn’t about turn based combat. It’s about pushing boundaries, and complicated epics. And this is one of the best plots I have EVER seen in an FF game.

At first it sounds like ffxv fight with Ifrit… but it evolves into one of most epic soundtracks ever

It’s funny how you can see every inspiration this game has from other things. Attack on Titian for the Titian battle this theme in particular, dark Clive theme kinda sounds like Zelda, game of thrones for the mature elements, ff7 for the story elements of the planet dying and a ragtag terrorist group saying it, xenogears, ff15 everyone loved the part of the game with older noctus so it seems like they learned a lesson from that and made the whole game that, dmc of course. It’s cool that you can see where all this stuff comes from shows how you can take old things and make them new.

To be honest I thought the Ifrit Vs Ifrit part of the fight was lame. How better would it have been if we actually got to engage Inferno Ifrit. Instead we mash square until be obliterate his life bar. WTH Square???

Hehe the subtle hints of FFXIV Oblivion theme scattered throughout is genius.

Now imagine some FF6 battles with such graphics. Like the one against Atma Weapon, or when Trance Terra protects Moblitz from Humbaba…

i loved how the fight finishes with Clive turned back human and lands the finishing blow with his sword, showing that even though he is Ifrit he’s still Clive.

From FF14 To this, i can say, Soken is a fucking genius

This entire fight is a fucking masterpiece. The hypest and most badass thing I have ever seen in a while! I legit teared up with how good and epic the fight was PLUS THE GLORIOUS MUSIC! FF16 is sumn special man, I love this game so much.

Final Fantasy XVI Ifrit vs Infernal Eikon and Final Fantasy XVI Infernal Shadow OST are 1, right cuz I listen them together and it’s like one, I think u should combine both of them

I was literally vining to the music whilst doing this fight. Such and emotional part of the game. True to Final Fantasy form.

This part of the game is where I realized this was my game of the year and probably one of the best games I ever played in general
Edit: I finished beating the game and all I have to say is… WOW. This game was a roller coaster of emotions and I can confidently say that Final Fantasy XVI IS one of the best games I’ve ever experienced. Yoshi P and everyone involved with the creation of this game deserve a lot of praise.
