Biggs and Wedge survived, when they didn’t in OG. Freakin’ ZACK survived, when he hadn’t — which is the very thing that made Cloud the wannabe ex-SOLDIER mercenary copycat he was in OG (Crisis Core finale explaining it away with memories and Mako and… lifestream magic, I guess).

Modern audiences cannot stomach Aerith’s death like we did, 26 years ago. They’d be traumatized way more than we did and no PR would ever be able to cope with the number of online petitions to “undo” Aerith’s death.

And with Nomura onboard, given his track record on Kingdom Hearts, it’s more likely we will see some sort of Disney Death like what happened with Biggs and Wedge, or a last minute save by Zack. After all, that guy is alive and Aerith is *his* girlfriend, not Cloud, right? (Which makes the old love triangle with Tifa done and gone, too. They are besties, now.)

Couldn’t hold out and started crying when Marlene told Zack to keep it a secret that Aerith will be killed at Sephiroth’s hands. It brought me back to when Aerith rescued her from Seventh Heaven and Marlene had an “Awakening”/“Vision” and Aerith pressed her finger to her lips to tell her to keep it a secret. It’s all Aerith’s memories and knowing that if she “wakes up” to let everything play out that is supposed to happen then her life will end.

That theme song, “No Promises to Keep”? It reminds me of “Through Life and Loss” and “When Forever Comes” by Miracle of Sound.

The last black feather falling made me shed tears

Aerith’s singing made me remember FF6 Celes opera house event. In fact, I saw several homages to past FF games in there.
A shame the game will be a PS5 exclusive. Oh well, my fingers are crossed for a PC port in one year or so after the PS5 version.

FF7 original and FF7 remakerebirth is like multiverse thing. If you have played original game you know whet’s to come in the future with Aerith. But in remake now you already have seen the destiny in the original and this time we can save Aerith …but with big cost i guess 🙁 No way I will see Aerith`s death this time again !!! Seriously 😅. Aerith singing out of the blue when she has never even shown any musical inclination is weird. Made even more bizarre by the fact she has a total different voice. None of this makes sense. It clashes bad with the tone of the story. It doesn’t suit FF7. FF7 does have its fair share of camp moments, the Honey Bee Inn dance being prime example. Problem is this is not aiming for camp, though, right? It is trying to take itself too seriously. Hollow was presented in a more understated less presumptuous way but hits home much better. If you pay attention to cloud’s voice when he is talking about his memory confusion, its breaking as if he just finished crying. The only thing that I could see making him cry would be aerith’s death. Perhaps, we’ll actually see Tifa put his mind back together in this game rather than the next. I’m probably grasping at straws, but just a thought.

I remake part 3, I think Tifa is going to be the main character while Cloud is in vegetable state.

I think this remake series is doing the right thing. Keeping the story mostly the same, expanding on certain plot elements and moments, but also introducing crazy new story threads into it all to keep it fresh and intrigue old and new players.

Temple of the Ancients new song rendition goes so hard in the first half of the trailer especially during Dyne’s scene!

To this day, I oscillate between Cloud X Tifa and Cloud X Aerith but *never* Zack x Aerith, despite having played CCFF7, since Cloud x Aerith makes more sense to me, emotionally and narratively than Zack X Aerith (though I love Zack!). So, this game, whilst being amazing so far, is tremendously toying with my emotions as though the latter were malleable legos…it is a personal opinion all the same. So, please feel free to ignore it. 😊

Congrats Loren on the stellar performance at TGA23, I’m sure the whole room was in tears….on a side I think your vocal style would be a great fit for reimagining Melodies of Life in the FF9 remake.

The main theme “No Promises to Keep” feels like a low jab towards Aerith&Zack, Tifa&Cloud who have made promises between them. Their fans have been cherishing and celebrating their promises for years, it feels disrespectful towards them as well. I’m not angry, I’m sad that we seem to be unimportant and that this feels like rejection towards us. I never expected this little thoughtfulness towards us while showing so much care towards only one character and one ship that is receiving preferential, gorgeous treatment; while sinking everybody else’s. It’s painful to watch. From the game I was expecting the most, to the game I’m dreading the most within just one trailer. I’m sorry. I’m sure they weighed in all possibilities, anticipated responses similar to this from some of us, and decided it was worthwhile even if some fans would drop along the way. So as I’ve already said my piece and seeing where this is heading, I’m letting this go and seeing myself out. I wish them all the best. Thank you for all you have meant up until now

Friggin’ February cannot come quickly enough.

It seems as if we are going to have two divergent timelines that can meet at certain moments – Marlene talking to Zack while Aerith and Cloud are sleeping is odd because if he were actually there in the same room as them he would just wake them up or wait for them to wake up. That suggests that he’s not truly there and can’t interact with them, but he can speak to Marlene because she’s special. I think the game is hinting that Marlene has Ancient blood in her, which many have thought for years and years.

Barrett and Nanaki/Red XIII in costume? I think that means the party is going to take part in the play at the Gold Saucer with Cloud, rather than it just being Cloud and Aerith.

At any rate, the sooner the end of February arrives the happier I’ll be!

Aerith gets a song nice, looks like this games gonna go halfway into disk 2 of the original cuz they show the plane taking off that they used for the huge materia in the original and since theyre doing what looks like 2 different timelines i wouldnt be surprised if this game was a legit 2 disks and one wasnt an installation disk like the first game.
