Wow, there being multiple Typhon’s that merge into a single, more powerful version was a massive hint, in hindsight.

I really like this song and am extra happy when I hear it later in orchestral form too! The whole motif is very versatile sounding and can adapt to both EDM and orchestral styles.

Love this track. It’s an otherworldly introduction to Ultima’s leitmotif.

I like how the Liquid Flame has this soundtrack as well, as if to imply that each of the Mother Crystals has a fragment of Ultima in it.

It’s so dumb that I just realized that one of my FGOs best and favorite YouTubers also plays FFXVI and what’s best it’s the one uploading the bangers!!!!

This song is ass. It legitimately ruined an entire section fir me. Whatever intern they put in charge of music in this section of the game should be fired. This followed by Cids death where it plsyed the happy upbeat hub music. Embarassing.

Advanced fallen civilization vibe, so more “modern beats” fit perfectly. Also, that dancing mad reference in the main motif. 10/10 Soundtrack.

This game was such a banger. It’s very good for the way Square experimented with yet another mainline that isnt turn based. (Or ATB). I think the team did great for what it is combat wise. And that they added easier options for those who just want story. I’m glad I got this game and didn’t let nostalgia get in the way.

Really glad they went with Ifrit being the protagonist for this one. As Yoshi-P said in an interview, Ifrit always gets the short end of the stick in Final Fantasies. He’s almost always one of the first summons unlocked which means by the middle of the game you’ll never see him again because you’ve moved on to better summons. He’s your first primal fight in FFXIV and just gets smacked around. It’s great to see him get to be as badass as his concept of being a giant fiery hell-beast should be.

Frickin’ popped off HARD when I got to this fight and this song started playing. Soken’s an absolute genius composer, and Yoshi-P has the experience in both making and playing games to know how to pull off an awesome moment like this.

This theme had me feeling like I was fighting in a completely alien world and I absolutely love it. Full control of Ifrit with this otherworldly music vs Typhon was just mind blowing

It’s very Soken to put Primal-level battles with a banger soundtrack. It’s just a Trial eventually. Soken never disappoints.

Petition for Soken to do the ost for each mainline FF game from here on out.

Ifrit’s design definitely takes some inspiration from Legendary’s Godzilla

I adore how some parts of this song sound slightly 8-bit, it feels like a mesh of old FF and new FF music. And I was fully NOT expecting this lol, I knew Titan was gonna have an XIV throwback but this one came beautifully out of left field.

This was probably the peak of the game for me lol. Had the biggest smile just thinking “Oh Soken, you devil you.” Especially how it builds up from the previous phase

Wasn’t expecting to hear 2011 esque dubstep in this game but I am here for it lol.

With all the references in this game, am I the only one who felt like the hellfire at the end was a reference to Goku vs Frieza and the spirit bomb? Just like Frieza, Typhon got over confident and kinda forgot hellfire was still up there.

The outrageous, bombastic nature of this is absurd. I feel like a kid again as a 38 year old man.

I thought I was playing the game with the music loud already until I got to this part. Now it’s been cranked up further ever since.

This is a spiritual sucessor to Seymour’s battle theme in my mind.

This track was such a great way of differentiating the otherworldly nature of this boss. It almost gives off the sense that he doesn’t belong in this story at all. Like he’s intruding on what seemed like a very self-contained universe up until this point. But yeah, It’s one of the most hype moments in the game for sure.

Soken, GOAT that he is, has yet again proven that he deserves the praise and accolades he’s achieved since becoming composer and sound director for XIV. Thank God for him and God bless him, for the world has been made better for his presense.

This track is dope and has some mad tekken vibes

I just love the use of EDM for this composition. For the better part of the game, it’s all been orchestral or classical with its instrument choice. But Typhon and the fallen are completely alien to the current world of FFXVI, they may as well be considered aliens. The sudden use of EDM absolutely separates the nature of these enemies compared to your average enemy or hell, even Eikon.

This particular song made me feel like I could casually walk up to a God challenge them to a dual and then walk away with their icor all over my body leaving behind their mangaled body.

This track caught me off guard, but it does fit well with the concept of fighting an otherworldly creature…

I love how they made the music here sound/feel different from the rest of the game so far. It truly gave you a sense that you were fighting an otherworldly entity.

Did anyone else think the hellfire part of the battle is very reminiscent of Goku Vs Frieza when he uses spirit bomb and frieza is distracted?

This song reminded me a lot of Hiroyuki Sawanos music and how I really need both Soken and Sawano to collaborate on a Final Fantasy song!

Was not expecting this kind of track to show up out of nowhere after the slew of classical music up to that point. I normally don’t like techno music too much… But this is an exception

ngl this theme is my least favorite in the game, the rest of the music is absolutely incredible but this one felt so out of place and lacking drama. Wish it didnt have all these electronic elements that sound like synth presets used on a DMC from 2009. The rest of the soundtrack is absolutely incredible tho and have teared up at so many of them. Soken killed it!!

The part at 1:29 is what gets me.

This is my first FF, this track gave me fucking goosebumps, it rises at the proper intervals in the fight too – truly something wonderous.

Ngl, just finished this boss fight a few hours ago and it’s not just my favorite thus far but it’s up on the list for my favorite fights in the *series*

The fight itself is great and highly creative, the story surrounding it is quite interesting, and the music takes all of that and wraps it up perfectly

Screw the haters games amazing, though some of the checkpoints on fights are kinda weird. Certain times you get a fair checkpoint for a long ass battle or boss and other times you have to start all over. Kinda annoying

This music not only sounds amazing, but also has cool parity with the fight, in that it sounds like the classical and synth parts of the song are also fighting. The synth overpowers the classical when it looks like Typhon has the upper hand, but then when Clive turns the tables to win the fight the classical swells until it completely drowns out the synth.

This is good, but I don’t understand the problem people have with orchestral music in FF lol

Kept waiting for bahamut to show up in that crystal lair. Then throughout the entire sequence I kept hammering the ATL button desperately looking for an answer to what the hell.

Music is bomb, but I almost forgot Clive just going “Oh, fuck” when he realizes it’s powering up and the idea of the eikon Ifrit now being a character and just swearing makes me smile and laugh, I love it. Imagine Knights of the Round nuking some super boss and all of them collectively see the boss still standing after the attack and just go, “Awwww shite.” in unison.
