as it was my first ever final fantasy it might not have been what i or others who have or have not already played the games in the franchise where expecting, i however, did i enjoy what i experienced for what it was 👍

I wish 16 had dlc that showed off and delved more into the ancient civilization that it eludes to so much throughout the game. That was the biggest gripe I had with the base game and dlc. It’s fine reading the lore entries but, I wanted to see it in the game.

Great video! I hear you, I love FFXVI as much as you do, but being realistic, I don’t think there’s much of a chance of getting anything else out of this universe. The game didn’t sell what it needed to in order to justify expanding it. At least there’s the Logos book to get additional information on the world and the characters.

I AGREE we need more ff 16 stuff like more dlc imo. Its FAR too early for a ff17 imo. And we need other playable characters

I don’t even have a way to play this game, but I genuinely feel like it will go down in history as one of the top 10 games of all time. I mean, how many games are there that give you kaiju fights? It’s absolutely peak cinema.

I had fun with it for the most part but the gameplay felt pretty shallow and the resolution of a certain maternal villains storyline annoyed me. It felt very anticlimactic after everything she’d done

For me, FFXVI is like an unpolished diamond; it went in a really good direction. The story, atmosphere, and music are also really good. I liked that it wasn’t an open world like FFXV. There are a few things I really missed: party members, RPG elements, walk-in houses—the things that define Final Fantasy. I’m not one to say FFXVI isn’t Final Fantasy anymore. Final Fantasy hasn’t been a “classic” Final Fantasy since FFXII, but it would have been so much better if it hadn’t been a pure action game. The story was all about the crystals, and the Espers played a larger role in the story again, like in FFVI. FFXVI did that really well. I liked that FFXVI is a bit darker than the other games, because FFversusXIII was supposed to be the darker Final Fantasy, but that was scrapped with the announcement of FFXV, so FFXVI took over that role.

When the story ends, I actually thinks that it has multiple endings. The original one is the neutral ending, and with the Leviathan DLC patching through, it can lead to bad or good ending (or even True Ending). But budget cut I guess

16 can easily have infinite stories due to the fact that the hammer home that there have been other

I’m getting close but I’m waiting until by memory of the story beats gets a little foggier. This is one of the games I wish I could forget I played it so I could start fresh again. I really enjoyed the story.

While the Final Fantasy fanbase are not much of a fan of FFXVI including myself, I very much agree with everything you put out here. If they had done everything that you said in this video, FFXVI definitely would’ve been a much better game in my opinion. It pissed me off how disrespected all of these characters were treated. FFXVI had the most disrespectful treatment of characters that I have ever witnessed in the franchise. It’s pitiful and actually ridiculous how a bunch of NPC characters got so much more than the main characters. It’s like these characters merely existed as tools for Clive rather than their own character. I wouldn’t count on them ever expanding on the other characters. If the developers truly wanted to do that, I think they would’ve done it by now. They at least would’ve done it already with the DLCs, but unfortunately they didn’t. I also hated how Yoshi-P lead the fans on with Echoes of the Fallen apparently revolving around Joshua, and The Rising Tide apparently revolving around Jill when evidently neither of those statements were true at all and that he clearly just said that as a lure to try to bait people into buying the DLCs because they needed more money, being well aware that everyone wanted to see other characters in the game aside from Clive shine a bit more. 

If I turn out to be wrong and they actually do make more content for the other characters, I could totally see them doing something for Cid, Joshua, Dion, or Barnabas. Jill and Benedikta had a lot of potential too and I would love more on them as well, yet I’m not counting on any additional content for them because I got convinced ages ago that Maehiro and Yoshi-P are just sexist asf. I’ve seen so many times how they treat their female characters, and pertaining to FFXVI, look at how the female characters in the game are treated compared to the male characters. Everyone did get shafted, but the male characters were no doubt a lot more utilized than the female characters. Benedikta was made the first to die, Jill is there but just stands in the background for 98% of the game, and Jote gets shafted as soon as Joshua leaves her to travel with Clive.

Regardless of the countless issues that I think this game has, it does need a lot of expansion. Other than tiny little snippets from the characters’ mouths, we don’t know shit about them or why they are the way they are. But once again, I’m not counting on it. I do also think if these developers weren’t going to do anything with these characters, then they may as well have not even existed. It was a one man army game anyway, it’s not like Clive was incapable without them. He did everything alone lmao.

They can easily make a spinoff prequel that focus on Barnabas and how he came to be…I just like that character and I think the way he is they can easily make it interesting the FF 16 world just can’t be done 😭

I think the game deserves a sequel, prequel, spin off where you play as joshua after pheonix gate, another prequel but about the ancient civilisations, spin offs where you play as your party members, a movie tie in, a tv series tie in, an anime adaptation, a 2d demake with turn based combat, a director’s cut with playable party members and more in-depth rpg mechanics and EVEN MORE eikons and rebirth side content, ANOTHER SEQUEL and a remake of 8 in the exact same engine with the same combat

A tactics game in Valisthea would be everything.

Otherwise I’d want to see how the downfall of the North came to be and meet Jill’s parents.

A deeper look into Waloed’s history would be very welcome as well.

Oh and you know, Jill and Clive getting married and having a million babies, etc 😂

Great video man. Funny thing is it was FF16 that got me to play the Final Fantasy franchise, heck I got the PS5 to play FF16 (And Demon Souls too) I always knew about (You’d have to be living under a rock to not know FF7) so when I beat 16 I immediately began Final Fantasy 1 in May and since then I have gone through the first nine games and I am just about to beat the final boss for 10. Each game has been its own journey and I have 16 (One of my favorite games of the franchise so far) to thank for. Obviously I had some ups and downs for each game but it really has been such a joy ride with different adventures in each game. Such an amazing series and I have 16 to thank for, and I one I love to replay over and over.

I would do some heinous things for a FF16 Ultim(a)te Edition, in the vein of what Atlas has been doing for some of their stuff.
