I used the midgame farm technique and man I did like 11k AP in 20 minutes. Thanks for that.
I’ve seen so many of these and yet all of them talk about blue birds for early game? This always confuses me because the most efficient early game grind from what I’ve found is wind elementals right before you defeat Garuda. There is six in the area each giving 40 AP and a group of knights at the bridge heading to that area that gives 56AP. So you can easily get 290AP each loop not to mention because the wind elementals are only level 15 and relatively close together you can defeat them super quickly. So the loops are quick to repeat. The only downside is the EXP you get from them is not very much. But i never really had any problems being under leveled playing through the game without grinding. AP was the only thing really annoying to get. Maybe I’m just dumb but I just couldn’t get blue bird hunting done as efficiently.😅
Ok end game. I’m getting 1435 xp and 480 AP per run
First play through. Normal difficulty.
Mid game took 5 minutes per run. I’d get roughly 1000 ap a run.
Ignition and rebirth for most then titan block n counter for the stagger folk.
And when you get to the big group at the end use the tornado to put them all in one area and then use the Earth ultimate move from Titan can you clear them out within a couple seconds just a pro tip you get 700ap
For the record I get 282ap for the first fight I forgot the second fight in the last fight is 700ap per 2-minute I just got to that mission so that has to be substantially higher than the endgame Farm
Is this really a “mid” game farm? I’m at 70% completion and have yet to make it to this mission for the grind. Although it looks like a fantastic farm and a great bit of advice, I would consider this a late game farm.
Weren’t the Garuda spawns in the earlier chapters like 40 AP? per? Wings of Change.. the whole map had at least 10?
Just need it for the trophy of all skills
The load out I recommend is Odin only. I use arm of darkness close the distance and briefly stun the enemy just enough to activate dancing steel. Then use Heaven’s cloud to finish bringing Zentesuken to full 5, then unleash Zentesuken to obliterate the entire group of enemies. I’m having a lot of fun with this load out.
TY
I found a really good spot for EXP. Catch is you gotta have Rising Tide DLC.
Go to Tailwind Bay in Mysidia and kill all the Ibex groups there. I’m netting 11,244 EXP and 114 AP per run. This is on my Story Focused mode, I would imagine it’ll give a lot more in NG+.
My equipment is Wages of Warcraft for the extra AP, On Fortune and the Heavens and Scholar’s Spectacles for the extra EXP.
Loadout:
Pile Drive for group 1 of Ibex
Dominion (Ultima’s Ability) on the 2nd big group of Ibex
Upheaval on the 3rd group of Ibex
Ignition on the final group of Ibex
Rinse and repeat. Takes a couple minutes or less per run. I’m using this to get to Level 60 on my story focused mode and max out Leviathan and Ultima’s abilities as I was level 53 by the end of the DLC. Will be using this for my NG+ save file as well.
Just fyi, if your killing wild chocobos for 40ap, there is a much better farm even earlier in the game. When your in the field prior to Garuda you fight Wind Elementals, each give 40 AP, there are around 10 of them in a cluster. All you need to do is teleport back to the crystal to reset them.
Thank You
I feel obliged to feedback my experience.
I used your tips, but found one comment to be more useful – Hawks Ridge for the chocobo early game once you get there.
I attempted to finish every summons as I got them, and it was hard as your mid game spot is in fact at about the 75% game mark, making it really hard to farm early game. In addition, the aetherflood at mid point then stops you farming blue chocobos for hours.
The good news is, I got to your midpoint farming spot, knowing I only needed 35000 AP for shiva and Odin. Therefore, 35 runs of the initial three fights is all that is needed as I was getting about 1000 a run. It didn’t take long (90 mins) and then I didn’t need the final spot. I got shiva a couple hours later and instantly maxed, I was only about 5000 over through normal collection without farming.
To those playing ffmode or normal, if you have the Echoes of the fallen dlc. You can actually farm that dlc for exp and AP. Fight the bosses and mobs and do not fight the final boss. Just go back to the hideaway and repeat the farm. Make sure you do not fight the final boss. Killing the final boss will lock you out of this DLC farm so be careful. Good luck hunting
Why would you need 60k ap per hour? You can make a whole build in 1 hour
A major help ! Thanks so much !
Thanks!
Really useful guide for farming AP early-mid-end games, thanks a lot 👌
Actual run in the Meadows time and numbers: 3 mins per run (under the best conditions), 198XP – 324 AP 60 mins/3 = 20 runs = 3960xp 6480AP
Ap not Real need i was maxed on Neq game plus just farm some exp
Dlc is very hard if you’re not strong enough. Nearly impossible so i recommend people level up, normal game was prety easy tho
Used this video for the endgame method for my first playthrough to hit level 50. Back again now that I started NG+. Not had major difficulty so far but I just beat Garuda so we’ll see. Definitely more spongy enemies. Forgot how much I loved this game!
Let’s get that platinum! Beating FF mode is literally the only trophy I have left.
Apparently there is a way to get a Wages of Warcraft 2 in your first play through but you have to buy another Wages of Warcraft from Lostwing prior to finishing the For Great Justice II quest which just so happens to be right before the Ild Kanver farm method 😭😭
Just got back into the game trying to complete it now, great video! Really wish Leviathan or Alexander were in the game as Eikons, maybe DLC 🤞🏼
Where is that Midgame method? I don’t see the city of canvan. I’m close to the end of the story, killed barnabas. So it isn’t midgame farming xD
so there isn’t any difference of xp between story vs action?
Thanks, Man… As someone who doesn’t like to do NG+ in any game, the Platinum just became MUCH easier!
And now, to grind Hyenas for 6 hours…
Dang the AP gain for the mid game run is significantly reduced on mission replay mode compared to when you do it through normal story progression. I was getting 1100 AP per run every 4-5 minutes
I keep getting the cut scenes each time I had travel back in active game. It’s taking a lot longer than 2 mins. What do you think I’m doing wrong
Thanks for the tip! I was spawning at the last waypoint and killing the orcs in the middle for 134AP but this is way more and in the same location 👌🏼 want that juicy lvl.5 zantetsuken 🤺🤺
It would be great if in the video was indicated that you can do the farm trick in Kanver only if you are in New game plus mode. Then I would not have wasted my time with it.😔
Thanks Arekkz….I got to level 50 in no time & the AP farm is wicked!!
I just kill everything I see as I progress. If it moves it has ap 😂🤷🏻♂️.
Best way to farm chocobos is to spawn at obelisk, get on your chocobo and run up to the firat pack on the left and just respawn at obeslisk, its way quicker than running all the way over to second pack, literally 10 second run, fight, spawn, 10 second run,, fight…
I got platinum because of you, thanks
Perfect Timing I just got to free cities
For the mid game farm in Kanver, the AP is more than 3x the amount. Instead of 370 per run it’s 1,112! Way better to farm during the story.
For mid game farm how far is it from optaining bahamut ? Cause i cant beat the dragon hunt that is level 50. So I could use this place to get some level
Early game farm has 4 packs of bluebirds. Kill all 4 and the last pack by the hut has dogs get all their attention and use flames of rebirth to take them all out
Believe that the Hyenas have been nerfed in 1.03 😢
Why would you stop on the first fight at kanver , do all three fights , then leave to the node next to kanver and restart much better AP
To be fair. If you killed everything on the map during your play you end up with 60kap and level 50 by the end of the game and with a normal run of NG+ you reach the cap. Farming is nice but if you dont want to do that just kill everything on the map each time your there for quests.
It seems that an update might have helped with how much AP you need to max everything.
I did all the side quests and hunts my first playthrough. Then in new game+, I did most of the side quest and only a few hunts. I maxed out all skills at level 90. I had two exp bonus items on the whole time but didn’t have to use any AP boost items. It finally happened halfway through the quests on chapter 67: origins. I’m glad I didn’t have to spend an extra hour or two grinding after finishing NGP.
at the start of waloed in wolfdarr you can pull 3 groups of orcs together and kill them all with 1 lv 5 Zantetsuken gaining 57200 (with buffs) exp and 448 AP per run
Thumbs up for the Hyena Spot. Saved me a lot of time farming those AP. thanks!
So no actual good xp farms cool glad you put xp farm in your title
If you don’t mind a short jog, in Bokland/Dhalmekia if you head towards Steps of the Forgotten there’s 4 packs of Nakks that (with the AP accessory +20%) drop 110-124 AP and it only took me just under 2 minutes running it on foot. There’s also two Hellgaroo’s that drop 96 each but they take a little longer to kill.
I’m in ng+ and have %60 boost in ap gains lol
Not sure of the point of you don’t use all abilities
How do you upgrade the accessory?
I dont have the pre order xp charm is there another one i can use?
I don’t think you can actually replay the actual stage itself for the mid game farm as I don’t see an option for restarting the stage on the initial playthrough
PLEASE put timestamps on your vids man. It’s 2023.
Level 5 Zangetsu will one shot that whole pack (or any normal enemy group in the game). It makes farming so much easier.
Appreciate the end-game farming tip; I will definitely take advantage of this location! Aside from the mid-game farming location highlighted in the video, another good AP site is located IVO the Dravozd obelisk: Travel to Dravozd, turn away from the guard 180 degrees and head down the path upon which three hounds [Bloodfang & Wild Nakks x 2] will be waiting accordingly… Defeating them is quick & easy and generates 115 AP with the Wages of Warcraft accessory equipped! Travel back via the Dravozd obelisk, and repeat to your heart’s content!
The farm spot i am currently using is during the main story quest The Dead of Night.
In the story after you leave Lostwing and head for Norvent Valley, and The Norvent, you reach a spot near a bridge where you will get a video. After that vid you main quest becomes Enter Caer Norvent. If you go back to the Lostwing Obelisk and head back to the South East of the map you can fight some soldier. Across the first bridge you can fight more.
Once there, there is a Caer Norvent River Bridge Obelisk right nest to the Caer Norvent River Gate location marker.
My current early game low level farm is Warp to that Obelisk, run down the bridge, defeat the enemies and repeat.
If you have Flames of Rebirth, which doesn’t take long to get here, you just run a couple steps past the two soldiers at the end of the bridge and cast. it might miss one enemy which can be easily defeated. Then warp to The Hideaway for a cooldown reset and repeat.
One round with no AP or XP boosts is 20 XP 64 AP, plus item drops. Black Bloods sell for 400 gil.
Once you go through the next part of the story and defeat the next major boss and gain a new power, this farm spot will disappear.
I’m doing the bluebirds myself but I do a little extra by attacking them a little bit then attacking the worgen. Gives me 105 ap. Same with bluebird near cliff. Use ignition and get them close enough to the wyvern infants and that another 91 ap.
For the early to mid game use Hawk Cry Cliff. Run north and hug the wall. Kill the 2 plant enemies and then follow the wall and there is a single blue chocobo. You can one shot it with titans wind up. Takes 45 seconds and you get about 100AP and up to 2 goblin coins but always one so 800-1600 Gil. Super fast and easy.
Do you get same loot and xp gil etc if you switched to story mode?
I don’t equip them rings for nothing. I feel like it’s actually cheating.
I watched someone play and they had the evade and precision rings on and the enemies couldn’t touch them at all. I’m like what’s the point of playing if the enemies and bosses can’t touch you?
trash
For the trophy where you have to unlock/ max out every ability do you have to have them all maxed out at the same time or can you refund points to unlock/ max out a new ability one at a time?
Not sure if is just for me but at the beginning of “cloak and dagger” (first mission after your fight with bahamut) as you start the mission there are a few dogs hidden to the left (literally 20 meters from your spawn, you will find 2 first and then another further in), killing them all gives you around 145 AP (I am doing it during the story so I am getting extra APs), the fight takes 15-20 seconds and all you have to do is click on restart and get new dogs! The obelists name is The Krozjit Echoes
Run till the 3rd area in Kanver with the mobs from the 2 past areas following you then unleashed everything
That mid game farm seems like a low estimate. Just the last fight of the 3 gives you 700AP per instance if you’re getting the 20% boost from your accessory. I think I was getting about 1100 AP per run–that’s if you’re not doing a stage replay.
The hyenas not sure if need be mastered by mine is one flames of rebirth should kill all 5. Also (might be common knowledge) but if save and load game abilities ready
I found a 100ap area in dhamekian desert
It’s been patched I get 288 ap instead of 700 in the first fight
@4:20 If done during the story it’s 700AP on the last mob alone, and I was getting around 1,000AP per run (With Accessory Equipped)
I’ve been using a farm in the fields of something in the south. It’s before the last two Farms on this video. It’s just farming the wolves. You get about 375-460 experience and 115 to 124 AP depending if there’s three or four wolves. There’s also a pack of about 10 or 12 flying birds or whatever they are. That doesn’t give you much AP only around 50 but it gives you a thousand experience. There’s exactly eight packs of wolves and that pack of birds. Don’t think it’s as good as the last two you pointed out because it does take more time. But it’s not bad
Thank you buddy for making this awesome guide, always remember that valdimir putin is monster, war criminal because of Ukraine war occupation, Russia is the largest country in the world he is crazy absolutely 忍者
I have asked everyone without answer how to turn off the damage numbers! Does anyone know
is garoudas pull the only one that can mini stun npc after you got their stagger to 50% ?
Now that I think about it, apparently, this game is overheating people’s PS5s everywhere, and it’s making me think if it’s going to be the same when Granblue Fantasy Relink comes out.
Man this came out right after I got the achievement for maxing everything lol
There’s 4 bluebirds in the royal meadows area not 3. Two near Northreach and Two near Oriflamme’s entrance.
Does anyone have an idea at which levels would be good to move on from the early/mid farms? As in, when do they stop being worth the time investment?
Thanks.
*do not* equip Timely Strikes. It will call in abilities for you. Last thing you want is it calling in a 2min cool down ability on an enemy with 5hp.
to get the money for charons necklassess simply sell potions then let yourself get killed , potions restock so sell, suicide, repeat.
Is it wise gringing the first play through if you know you’re planning to play ff mode acter the first play through? Levels ap carry ovwr and level cap is increased and i imagine so are exp ap rewards so wouldnt it be wise to wait till ffmodeto grind ?
Excellent farming guide. Haven’t gotten the game yet but looking to buy sometime in the near future and always glad for some good farming locations for whenever. In the meantime I’m collecting some walkthroughs, tips and tricks etc and bookmarking them for when I do get the game.
I never felt the need to farm ap or xp in the first playthrough, just exploring and doing the sidequests had me at max level before the end. Edited in the word level lol
This has become one of my top 3 favorite FF games. Love the combat, story, and characters. I’m glad they went this direction with a FF game. I still like the turn based ones, but the action combat FF games have a much higher skill ceiling than turn based ones which I enjoy. I see a decent amount of FF fans who don’t like this one, but I think after seeing how insanely well the game is doing world wide I believe it was the right decision. I think this one is going to be game of the year.
you dont ever have to do these. no point what so ever. final fantasy mode is not hard. Never grinded anything just did the quest and fought the enemies I ran into for both playthroughs was in the 80s at the end with beating all the hunts.
Those first 3 packs in Free Cities of Kanver in normal mode net you 1100-some AP per run if it’s the active mission. It is far better than the Hyena pack. Unfortunately, if you miss it, you can’t go back.
What I’m doing atm, well before I got bahamut I used Garuda with titan abilities bc the pull in thing works great with them but now I’m going to prolly put ramuhs skills on titans and put titans back on garudas bc I think judgment bolt or whatever is kinda lame. But the counter eith titan is awesome
AP is so useless in this game. I feel like the ability tree and the rpg elements suck compared to the last major games
I’ve never felt such strong dislike for an ff title in my life it is crazy. I was so excited for this game! Lol it feels like square finally made the “western” style “rpg” they always wanted while leaving the rest of us in the dust. I’m happy for those that love it, but it’s not doing it for me at around 70% completion so I know it’s not gonna change now. I won’t be rushing to buy the next one, it’s crazy how my feelings toward yoshida have instantly flipped.
That being said there ARE things I like, they’re just mired in all the self indulgent bs the devs included making it really difficult to like. As soon as some crazy set piece is happening I’m loving it again, only to get whiplash from the plot grinding to a halt for me to go find, no joke, FUCKING sand. I killed a god in the most epic way, now im Mid’s bitch for half an hour? Couldn’t s regular less integral person be doing this? Hell you even bring a companion why can’t they just go off to do it while we do something more exciting? The pacing is just off and wrong, and the devs get in their own way making higher highs and lower lows that ruin it for me.
Combat can be a lot of fun though, which is why I’m here in the first place, excuse my rant, I’m still very raw and disappointed about it, but I highly doubt a soul will read all of this anyway haha.
I think playing until the mid game farm then farming it for 1-2 hours in order to get 6 abilities mastered means that you have all the ap you need for the entire game. As you only have 6 abilities equipped at any point.
To be fair, you don’t need to max out ALL the abilities. You can only use 6 out of the 32 abilities and 3 out of the 7 feats.
There’s no penalty to resetting ability points so as long as you have enough to master at least 6 abilities and 3 feats you don’t need to farm. Just set and reset points as needed when you want to switch abilities.
Not including the main abilities in the center circles btw.
To be honest, I felt robbed playing this. I made sure to do all the side quests, the hunts etc, only to finish the main quest and found the ending to completely waste my time. The ending was so unfulfilling that it takes any motivation to try NG+. Factor in nothing new other than gear and new enemy placement, makes me not want to bother.
I really wish we had a better ending for finishing it the second time around.
I’m doing the first 3 fights of the Kanver instance at the moment. Currently maxed all abilities and have about 26k AP. Not sure if it will be enough but I still have to do final fantasy mode so I’m not worried
