Clive yelling the names of the eikons always made me laugh. GARUDAAAAAAAAAAAA

One small detail I notice here and love are the voices thar appear when Clive uses each Eikon. Garuda is Gav because it was the first mission Gav helped Clive in search of the fire Eikon that led them to Benedikta. Titan is Mid because Hugo destroyed Kanver, where Mid was studying but decided to come back home and help in the fight. Uncle Byron is with Bahamut because Dion saved him, which led to an alliance and Dion’s help in the final fight. Odin is Elwin because Elwin wanted to change the world for the better, while Barnabas wanted the world to submit to Ultima.

Hearing Cid’s voice makes me so emotional. This game was peak.

Ff16 has really incredible highs, but also very very bad lows.

When I faced him, I managed to finish him with Leviathan’s special. The one Eikon power he didn’t want us to have and he falls to it.

Say what you want about the rest of the game, but hearing his friends and family as you use the Eikons had me in tears. This entire boss battle was the very definition of epic.

This was hands down, the best boss battle clash I have ever witnessed. Epic, massive, beastly, and hyped up for the entire game…genuinely can’t remember the last time I had this much fun as an adult playing a video game before💪🏽😁

So sad that you didn’t include Ultima’s “I cannot end… I AAAAM THE EEEEND!” before he’s just absolutely put in his place by Clive.

Really wish you could utilize other eikon’s abilities while as ifrit. You got a hint of that from the titan fight and with Phoenix but would’ve been awesome to see ifrit use all of their abilities.

Ultima represents an archetype of existential evil, a being whose very existence threatens the natural order, akin to the overwhelming darkness Morgoth embodies. Ultima’s attempt to recreate humanity in his image also aligns with Morgoth’s original defiance of Eru Ilúvatar in creating his own races (e.g., Orcs). Both seek to corrupt and control rather than nurture or coexist. Another similarity I can think of is the big bad (you know who) from steven erikson’s Malazan Book of the Fallen. Godlike isolation and his rejection by the world, combined with his manipulative plans to reshape it. It would be neat to get a battle with either in a modern fantasy game, this one with Ultima is good enough until then I suppose.

Just learnt that Ultima and Viktor from Arcane share a voice actor and it makes so much sense

Sorry, but that’s what I think every time I see that scene. Doesn’t take away any of the awesomeness or satisfaction of fucking up Ultima though. And Byron’s “That’s my boy!” line just makes it even better. I loved this whole sequence. Totally worth all the heartache and trauma.

You know its kinda crazy how the Dominants were essntially kinda like titan shifters from AoT Wonder if they drew inspiration from that. Also the music/cinimatics in this game are amazing what a ride. if this is the way FF games are going count me in for sure.

For Leviathan,

Ultima could say *Waves/Tides Unshackled*

And Clive shouts *Leviathan!!!*

And the background voice for it would be Baby Waljas laughing and giggling as a way for him to thank Clive for saving him from being consumed by Leviathan and offering his support to Clive to defeat Ultima

This would be the number 1 choice because it just fits so well with Clive’s determination to make a better world for everyone and to be able to live a normal life as equals and for Waljas to grow in a world where suffering is no more and the baby laughing would be a heart wrenching feeling that would make the players go AWWWWW

Just imagine if with the update of The Rising Tides DLC, they added an extra part of the fight where Ultima uses Leviathan, Clive matches it and Shula, Otto, or Torgal spurs him on too.

I think the craziest thing about Clive is that he’s beating all XVI Ultimas, COMBINED, IN HIS BASE FORM!

One ultima was already incomprehensibly powerful enough to make multiple dimensions(Arete stone, chronolith trials) and universes(interdimesional rift and theoretically omegas universe as ultima is above omega). Creation manipulation is the cherry on top of

That’s not even getting into leviathan being capable of making a portal to who knows where.
