Ngl.. massively underwhelming. How did we miss modal opportunities for summons with options for splash damage? Enters w/x counters and use to activate tier 1,2,3 spells. The sagas are ok, but feel very slow and again… underwhelming. This could have easily just been ff7. Not getting to see a siparoth precon when I hear ff collab feels… majorly lacking. My guess is… like everything else… buy the precons then chase all the set cards… 🤦

Saga creatures seems janky, can block first turn and attack second turn and then sac’d after following draw step. Seems not that crazy just a Saga with a slight difference, easier to remove by targeted creature removal and board wipes too.

Personally I don’t like Universes Beyond. I love MTG IP and i wish Magic stayed itself and wouldn’t become a meltingpot of meh franchises. And i don’t support this CGI look of the art nor the anime style. If you want to do some Japaniese style art, there is other masterpiece ways, but this don’t make the cut for me. The only product I would consider buying this year is Tharkir (if it is as good as it seems). Hope next year there will be fewer UB and more MTG IP. Stay positive! 🙂

I’ve played FFVIII and FFX to no end as a teen, and I can say with confidence that, except for Tonberry, none of the cards from either game you showcased here make any sense if you look at their ingame counterparts… Shiva’s ultimate attack giving you cards (knowledge in MtG lore) based on the number of tapped creatures your opponents control? Frozen creatures being tapped in MtG makes sense, yes. But the card gaining is stupid. Shiva deals ice damage. She doesn’t GIVE you anything… Especially not with her strongest attack….
Tidus taking counters from someone and giving them to someone else, ALSO makes no goddamn sense. Cheer is kinda okay, but also a VERY minor ability in the game itself.. Jumbo Cactuar having ridiculous attack is cool, but it doesn’t do that on a constant basis, nor does that damage from a FF game translate well to MtG. it’s gimmicky, and designed to trigger nostalgia, but it makes no sense game-wise..
Also, Sin only removing dead permanents? How? It’s a living calamity, that destroys LIVING things. It, in fact, does NOTHING to dead entities in the game itself! The only exception to this, is when it summoned Tidus from the dream world, into Spira itself. Which is probably what this card is trying to represent. But then again, Tidus wasn’t even dead. He was a figment of a dream, created by the Aeons, the summons of that game. So no, he shouldn’t have been in a graveyard, to be exiled.

Please, for the love of god, stop this nonsense.

Innistrad remastered, was a premium set, so we knew it was going to be more expensive. The play booster box was 185 for 36 BOOSTERS. And the collectors for 350.

I love that the summons use the original concept for planeswalkers. It’s the perfect way to represent them and I’d not have thought of it at all. The bonus sheet amuses me because it’s like any number of fan made alters or proxies, complete with just taking a picture you found somewhere to use for the art. ( But I do love it, too, That dragon. I Must have it. )
