Being on PC, it should have path tracing and supposed to look a generational leap better than the PS5 Pro. Higher resolution and faster framerate and minor improvements in lighting is not good enough.

Seeing people in 4K closeup always reminds me of Gulliver’s Travels, where the giant humans were absolutely horrific-looking up-close. I don’t need a germ’s-eye view of every pore, mole, and zit scar, thank you very much. There’s a reason Hollywood has a whole makeup artist profession built around concealing that stuff.

I haven’t played any of the remake stuff yet, but I’m concerned about the timey-wimey stuff I’ve been hearing references to. Maybe it’ll work, maybe it won’t, but I wish there was the option of a route that sticks to the original story only.

As seen in this latest trailer, Aerith and Tifa are shot in above-the-breast footage. In gameplay, Tifa has a longer upper body and a lower middle just like men. The legs seem shorter. Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 will use Unreal Engine 5, as will Final Fantasy 17 and 18 (using overworld assets from Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3). The max resolution on PC will be 8K. The max frame rate on PC will 240 FPS.

Iam not playing this until all 3 games are out and you actually carry your characters specs to the next game, I can’t believe you cannot even import your old saves and more people are annoyed with that.

I stopped my ps5 playthrough early because I didn’t like the visuals. I ended up building a pc in the summer. Glad pro users have an excellent version, and I’m delighted I waited because now I can play the game in the most beautiful way possible. The combat feels too good to restrict myself to 30fps

Wish they’d remaster the original with the graphics fidelity of the remake/rebirth.

Please make it optimized. Please don’t mess it up like the last port on the PC. It didn’t get enough updates, wasn’t optimized at all, and didn’t have enough Graphic options. Also, don’t put hardware limitation error messages like “you don’t have enough Video memory,” etc. The other PC ports had this message, which was annoying.
Don’t forget the FSR 3.5 or by the release put the latest version of FSR, and if it wasn’t optimized please release frequent updates to make it playable.

In my opinion this is still second to the original, the biggest detractor for me is not being able to keep your progress like the original. The game is still good just doesn’t beat the original.

Glad that Square Enix learned what an actual servicing PC port is supposed to look like. Still, the feature list is somewhat ok and meh. I bet it will not be special when DF get their hands on it.
Why just 4K and 120FPS though? There is 8K, 240Hz and even “unlimited FPS” out there. And advertising M&K support on a PC remains silly to this day.

Square Enix, please add Ultrawide support even if it’s only for gameplay and not cutscenes! Unreal Engine makes this very easy to do. At the very least, please make the game’s Engine.ini file more easily modifiable so users can tweak settings to their liking. Thanks so much and excited for the game!

OK this is making me want to replay Remake and Rebirth on my PS5. Happy for PC players to get this release!

The biggest issue with FF7RB is that despite being a PS5 exclusive, it performs like a PC game forcefully ported to PS5. In comparison, Wukong, which also uses the UE5 engine and releases on both PC and PS5, performs noticeably better on PS5, at least offering 40FPS and motion blur options, resulting in a much better gaming experience than FF7RB. FF7RB seems like it was developed for PS5 Pro or PC from the start. People complained about its performance issues on PS5 since launch, and SE’s only response was adding a “Smooth” option to the original Performance mode, which is far from sufficient. I bought FF7RB on PS5 but couldn’t seriously play it because the visuals are terrible – whether it’s the low framerate in Quality mode or the blurriness in Performance mode, both are significantly worse than other PS5 games, so I wouldn’t recommend playing this game on PS5. SE simply attributes the poor sales to PS5 exclusivity, but the truth is, if you release a PS5 exclusive game that performs poorly on PS5, sales will inevitably suffer.

Please run better than Pt 1 did on PC. To this day it is pretty bad and the broken texture streaming which causes a lot of the stutter above 60fps was never patched.. and the fix is a simple ini change doable with a mod.

Just got it on ps5, looking forward to playing. I completely forgot about FF and noticed crisis core was on ps5 that I vaguely remember playing as a kid on my psp. That’s actually what made me interested 😊

Square enix is just the worst at optimizing. Just look at ff16.

I was fooled by the XVI port! Poor performance, no ultrawide support, and it’s been months with no patches to fix anything… and the discount looks like desperation, so I’m gonna wait for the realease this time!

This is my GOTY. It was so full of content. It was beautiful, it boasted a unique battle style with each character having their own playstyle. It was amazing
