Still a great game. Was a great joy to begin and for some time. It just does not have longevity of replayability in the way that it was meant to as a live service. Once you’ve played all the classes and used all the skills a few times, and grinded the loot over and again, it becomes less satisfying. I’ll probably hop on for nostalgia’s sake someday.🎉

He may have not been the Boss or Team Lead. But I’m going to assume that he knows that the Game and maybe even the company is struggling. You claim bad news but in reality he was there since the start and whether the guy was super approachable, kind, or even the bridge between community and devs, the problem still remains that Diablo 4 is not most peoples Diablo. They are trying to fix a dish that already has too much seasoning in the pot, and once that seasoning is in the dish, its really fricking hard to get it out, or you have to put more ingredients in it to create a larger portion to offset. At the end of the day, this is a project that just needs to move on to Diablo 5 with the lessons learned. Question is, will microsoft allow that. Diablo lost all my trust since after the season of the vampire thing, havent touched it, wont ever touch it again. And sure Diablo 3 recovered with Reaper, but pre reaper game was a mess also. I just feel like this is in a far worse state than Diablo 3’s situation however. I just hope D5 is somehow worse then D4. Make the peoples game, and stop adding all the trends from other games unless it’s a global win…like WASD.

Tbh as much as I liked some of the fireside chats. Most of them were boring and never answered real concerns. The dev interviews were multitudes more informing on what is happening in the future. As to fireside chat half of the time was just minor changes to what we already knew from the PTR and never deep enough to get a good grasp of all the changes. Sad that people leave and he was good, but at the same time he probably saw no way to make things better and choose the right option for him.

So… many people have left blizzard and Diablo team. You say they are all great people and professionals. I wonder who is responsible with this joke of a game D4 is? Who should we blame for lack of knowledge and terrible vision if all those veterans are amazing?

Adam was always such a presence. It’s easy to direct a lot of shit at community guys, and Diablo is one of those where you can really get barraged by its enthusiastic community (for better and worse). He locked it down during those couch streams, kept things moving, and I always saw him responding to individual queries on socials too. He’ll be missed, and it’s a big loss for Blizzard.

Doesn’t really matter how good/bad you are at managing a community if you don’t have a game that requires it. D4 is made for extremely casual players that pay no attention to anything going on with the game outside of logging in to a screen telling them there’s been an update and/or new cosmetics.

As a 20+ year Diablo fan, S11 was the final straw and I switched over to POE2 last week. It was a tough start with lots of video watches and tutorials and the Act 1 Boss almost made me quit but now, I totally get the hype. I’m having a blast and see the difference between the 2 in terms of quality, itemization, journey to endgame, monster mechanics, etc. etc. This news just serves to reinforce my decision to switch and make the leap. I was sad at first as I still maintained some hope that Blizzard would listen to the players and make a better product but seeing the new Masterworking, power nerfs, reduced build variety and viability, no new endgame content, and more, 2+ years into the game and 10 seasons later, I lost all remaining hope. What’s the definition of insanity?? 🙂

I am not surprised at all. I saw the interview with collin and the other dude from the dev team and rax. There were alot of hate in the chat especially against Adam it was insane. He was in the chat there and writing. So sad that the mods didn’t do shit about it. No bans or time outs or whatever. The worst experience I ever had in raxxes stream.

With the shift of the Diablo team being very transparent and community feedback driven over the years, the loss of a community manager will have no impact at this point in time. We haven’t seen a situation like in D3 where Reaper of Souls saved the game, we’re still at D3 vanilla stage, still struggling to find a direction for the game… Adam was there at least helping to understand what’s going on. We will miss him.

I remember one saying before leaving the ship that D4 Roadmap is good for 10 years.. but they lied since launch about a lot of things, that we don’t believe them one cent.

I really hope D4 will die as soon as possible and will be put on life support as soon as possible, so they can focus on D5, and then miracle will happen and that game will actually be a good ARPG with proper Diablo feel. Then i woke up with wet pants.

Noone responsible for gameplay/leadership on the d4 team did a good job. Graphics and animations are all clean and sweet but. The game blows unfortunately.

Everyone slightly competent has left or is leaving the company. They’re gonna be left with only trans devs hired for their diversity, working their first job, put in charge of this mammoth of a franchise.

I don’t know why, but I have a different approach to these departures. I look at it from the perspective of a player who doesn’t like a few things about Diablo 4, and looking at the camp fires, I saw people who are leaving the game development. If these people were the ones presenting content that wasn’t exciting and looked more like copy-paste, won’t the game be better off without them?

As a stubborn Diablo fan, seeing this made me audibly sigh. I understand D4 is in a tough spot deserving ridicule. However, seeing this let’s you know everything isn’t good.

D4 should just be deleted and a new game should be made

Well shit. That’s really bad. Pezradar was a cool guy. They absolutely messed up with D4 I don’t know what they were thinking. From the beta I knew it didn’t capture the feeling that D2 and D3 had. Been playing the recent season of D3 and its night and day (also for some reason I get way higher latency in D4 vs D3, 60ms more in D4) I hope things can improve but honestly they shouldn’t have had so many devs who’s first game ever was D4
