After playing POE2, D4 visually looks kinda washed out (contrast, colors). It wasn’t as obvious when I was playing D4. Also, vampire and witchcraft mechanics are cool but, as you said, they would better spend time on improving core experience (NDs, hoards, boss fights, and general progression) – in POE2 the end game map makes it more strategic and tights the elements much better. It is basically nightmare dungeons that you can customize with activities and difficulties. D4 has ND affixes, yes, but with less randomness and customisation. POE2 in early access feels much deeper already. Though, armoury is not there, and wardrobe would be nice to have. d4 might appeal more to casual players but I don”t think POE2 is for hardcores only, I didn’t play POE1 before and enjoyed POE2 right after lots of hours spent in D4.
I think it looks good. I also enjoyed season 2 (the vampire season) a lot. Possibly the most. I took a vampire-Necro from 1-100 in that season.
Been holding off getting d4 just due to my feelings about d3. It may be time for me to check it out. Once it goes on sale. Thanks for the no fuss content. Really enjoying your channel.
