I played a bit of PoE, I started putting on loot filters barely a few hours in. It’s basically unplayable without them after a dozen hours, let alone in the endgame.

Let me nerd about item level a bit

In PoE you get some basic form of an item that goes progressively better, say… Stone Axe, Copper Axe, Iron Axe. Eventually this wrap around and you get Advanced Stone Axe, Advanced Iron Axe all the way to Expert, that is the current highest tier.

Usually, the more primitive version of an item will be worse damage wise… usually. Say, a Stone Axe does less damage than an Iron Axe but here is the kicker, Stone Axe may have a native ability like having better reach so some people will favor Stone Axe no matter what. The more primitive version of a weapon also has less level and stat requirement.

All of this is on the base “white” version of the item tho, I can find an Stone Axe with +100 to damage that will out damage an Iron Axe with +50, and getting good rolls is the hard part. In theory an Iron Axe with perfect rolls would be better ASSUMING all you care is DPS. Often it’s not.

The Staff Elon was using is a Battier Quarterstaff (has native block) with maxed roll (15%). Technically if he could find an Expert version with better rolls it could be better, but it is mathematically hard to find something with those good rolls. He has a magic iron sword with a godslaying enchantment and he is complaining the sword is not made of steel, basically.

Plus, even not being the “expert” version, he is already deleting the enemies with auto attacks without using mana. He is doing a safari with machine guns and complaining it is not doing enough damage because he forgot to put the gun on “auto”.

Why would he use a video game to try and market his genius level intellect.. it’s a video game.. why can’t he admit he’s a noob. If he would of just been honest about it that would of been cool but apparently Elon has to be great at everything..cringy
