The higher the ilevel drop should depend on your magic find stat. If you are fighting level 80 mobs with no MF gear, then their entire loot wheel should have a chance to drop, with more items on a lower level being available. The higher the MF stat you have, the more that gets eliminated within that loot wheel.
I think it ridiculous to just want the developer to grant you the best things because you are fighting higher level mobs. Rather, give you the ability to manipulate the drops available within the loot pool.

People need to realize that D4 is a failure because of its marketing and monetizing. The devs in this game that created the game are capable. Itemization and depth is lacking compared to games like path of exile but in many ways, it is better than all competitors. The first campaign playthrough and the betas were amazing.
If diablo was announced as a diablo game with a great story and optional multiplayer and for like 50€ without a shop and bullshit like emotes, people would not have been that upset. World Bosses would be a pleasant surprise, they are a gimmick, marketed as huge things.

Blizzard is greedy when it comes to monetization. Those devs who work there dont deserve most of the hate. Its lead of the company that is responsible for the mess d4 is right now.

Diablo 4 is as fun as Diablo 1, which is a bad thing. D3 had the best game play, D2 had a slightly better story but if i had to Rank them its D3, D2, D1, then D1 again and finally D4. Story was super Weak, and honestly the game bored me. (think they lost some of the things that were great) They should build off of the things that were great, and frankly they did not. they focused on things that were, poor experience. which for some bad idea that added to the core game play. Its the problem with open world, and not on the rails game. Open world games need to make the open world fun. on the rails you focus on the story. D3 did this the best. D4 did it terrible, another game giant that also messed that up was Halo, Same problem. They dont understand what makes them good. Frankly D4’s hype is not coming back. people have moved on and they will wait until D5, and pray they figure what made there games good.

Also, 3 days is long enough to clear all the content of an entire season. You can deck out a whole character in 3 days in hardcore. D4 progression is INCREDIBLY accelerated compared to other games and as a result, this is a horrific idea. And since they won’t respond to the actual imbalances and bugs during the 1 week long PTR, the PTR won’t matter anyways. Think of this as just a way to “discover the bugs you wanna abuse all season”.

PTR destroys launch excitement, and is only useful if the company has snappy response time to balance issues and bug management, neither of which Blizzard has, so in this context, a PTR is going to do nothing but hurt the game.

Looks like I’ll be logging on in a few weeks.

I think one of the main issue i don’t see people talking about is that you have this weapon and you want 2 specific stats. First you have to find the perfect item to start your tempering, then you have to hit 1 out of 4 stats 2 times in a row on this one item else its bricked. :s Its a 3.52% chance of that happening or on avarage 1 out of 56 items. This rng is absolut madness if you ask me. 3.52% chance is just to low in my opinion.

I get why they arent allowing tempering on uniques , but i think it would be cool if they gave us a freebie affix slot to change so as to personalize our builds even further.

I don’t know if this is the golden standard nowadays; to hold feature interviews, but it feels really desperate and pathetic to me. If you make D4 GOOD, you wouldn’t need to go do interviews about what you are doing, people would play the f game. Fix the game, give players what they enjoy, and win. What is it with these 2 hour show cases about how you upgrade your gear? This shit should be common knowledge and in game working “as intended” in the first place.

Basically I have very low respect for these developers and I also don’t share Asmons positive attitude towards them. It is taking too long and at this point “if they make the game good, it’s a good thing” doesn’t mean everyone should forget how badly they f up. I mean with their wallets.

So other companies in the industry pay substantially better and easily poach talent. That happened a lot in the past. Ans i’m not sure the Blizzard of today even gets much talent anymore, because their reputation isn’t what it used to be.

If they can hold some talented people, those are very likely the work horses and overworked and underpaid as well.

Congratulations Blizzard, it took you over half a decade of development time, millions of dollars, a post-release blind fumbling around the place repeating the same mistake over and over and all the while pushing for paid expansion releases before even locking down your core game…… to eventually realise that the direction to take Diablo 4 is in the direction of Diablo.
It’s kind of a shame it took feeling like you had actual competition taking away your ultra-casual audience for that realisation that the best way to make a good Diablo game is to make a Diablo game to actually sink in though.

Isnt the fact that there will be “greater” modifiers mean that you would never want an ancestral item without them? in which case even if you are not getting sacred items anymore, you would still get ancestral ones without a “greater” modifier, which would also be considered junk when minmaxing.

Why do Blizzard feel they need a PTR for Diablo 4? Maybe they’re realising how disconnected they are from the community with decisions made on the direction of things

They’re probably putting a PTR to do changes before the patch goes live just in case people aren’t receptive to changes.

Honestly I thought last season was pretty fun, I only leveled 1 character but still. Every other season there’s enough extra content to make it worth playing. I’ll definitely play Season 4, should be interesting.

It’s about time. The hyper specific affixes drove me nuts. Like the Diablo 2 itemization was awesome, there were fun affixes and plenty of fun uses for most of them

Looks like the real Diablo 4 is about to launch in May…. I was in the “beta” during season one and prior and quit until the actual launch, becaus of the state in which the game was in. But the things they said here are 99% going to make me try the game again.

Break the cycle. There are more games out there today, why give A.Blizz more chances?? Why support bad behavior or poor business practices?? Its like that saying.. “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me,.” This philosophy will never change unless you Force these types of companies to set higher standards. The solution is easy since its a money-related issue and a “monthly numbers game”. People in general needs to be mature enough to start using their heads, grow a spine and quit playing half-made live-developments. Simply swap to companies that put the gaming quality and experience first and the monetization last. This will force companies to take action and deliver better products in the future.

Blizzard really needs to do a relaunch that give the first expansion out for free to folks that own D4 to attract interest.
I’m not planning on even trying the next season of D4.

Last Epoch -Rough first week, but I’ve enjoyed playing a couple of different classes to 70. Will continue playing and hoping for more content.
POE – Had plenty of fun with it years ago and still play it occasionally if the season theme seems interesting
POE 2 – Looks interesting
D3 – Having more fun with a dead game than I had with D4 S1 or S3 (S2 was about the same)
Diablo Immortal – more fun than D4 until you hit the paywall – kind of dead to me now, but it didn’t cost me 70 bucks.

It kinda pisses me off that it took them a year from launch to actually fix shit people have been complaining about since day 1, then they throw up a PTR 2 weeks before season start, and we’re supposed to believe they’re actually going to be able to fix issues before season start. I gave this game the benefit of the doubt and kept my hopes up for a while, just to get pissed on every time and told it was raining. I still want the game to be good, I just don’t know if they’re capable of making it good anymore.

All the gambling shit is just being added for the eventual addition of pay2win mechanics they’ll add in 1-2 years

In the future people are going to study how bad Blizzard / Disney etc.. became because of focus groups and corporate trends. Artistic visions need to be left to people who are passionate about the actual art – once you introduce focus groups or share holders the projects become a blob of wanting to please everyone while pleasing no one. This is what happened to Disney and Blizzard / Microsoft. This is also why we get nothing but remakes or rehashes in a lot of entertainment, and this is why Indy games are becoming way better (as far as fun / story) than AAA titles.

If you can’t make your arpg a better arpg, make up a new category and be best in that instead… classic.

Thanks Diablo for spawning Diablo 2 for creating a baseline for ARPGs so PoE then Last Epoch could exist so Diablo 4 devs could learn how to make proper ARPGs.
