I love my glass canon necro. It was tough 40-60 but now I absolutely wreck everything. My group got jumpped on in the pvp area by 3 level 80ish barbs and one shot all three of them at once being level 62, granted they all ran in almost single file, they all dropped in one shot. It was definitely a tasty experience.

Funny that you said that Barbarians don’t pick up until level 50+… I dropped my at 49, it felt like a slog! I should probably go back to it at some point.

11:13 I don’t know why but no dev has managed to do pets right, they either can’t get the AI right or are terrified of makes a class/build that can AFK.

I’ve tried pet builds in well anything that can have a pet build I’ve played most of the AAA and western MMOs oddly the closest thing I’ve found to a full pet build/class is Star Trek online yes carries suck as despite there name they can only have two slots for attack craft but with the right consoles you can get quite a few extra craft so it looks like your controlling wings of fighters but as they are worried that you may AFK this build can’t do anywhere near top DPS but it’s still fun to play.

Devs need to get over their pet class fears as if a player wants to AFK farm they can already do it my keyboard came with everything I need to make a 1 button macro that is set to use random times between key press and how long the key is held down for, I with almost no skill in software can write a macro that is almost completely undetectable if I wanted to but ied refer to actually play the game as I’ve paid for and it would be super cool if they would have a high end viable pet build for once and it’s just cool to march across the world with an army of minions doing my bidding it’s why I loved the overlord games (they ruined it with the third game).

necro is a sad class, it needs more work tbh. I don’t regret using it as my main, just sucks that everyone is so far ahead of the race.

they need to make necro minion spawning a PASSIVE , one respawn every 2 seconds or so, so that it doesnt use up a skill slot and also shouldnt use a corpse since the class is so dependent on corpses for damage. that’s my opinion on how to fix necro

Necro is garbage

Necro just looks awful on the minion sacrifice builds I have seen when the minion build I have seems way more powerful. Also I do not need to block damage when my minions tank it all and heal instantly / get resummoned by my ult and the rest of my damage is from weakening enemies and increasing the damage they receive while using the unique that makes corpse explosion a tracking ability and I use its dot variant to combine more buffs. Necromancer minion build is highly synergistic with and melts large groups of elites in my experience.

Wudijo was never in danger at level 99. When poisoned the top green line is your current health and the red line is where your health will be after the poison wears off.

they need to change the raise skeletons from single click to a wide cone area of effect so u can raise multiple at 1 time. miss clicks on a corpse for a raise vs explosion is to real and life or death in some cases and you solve alot of the issues right their so like cone for razing your max number only then single clicks for the priests

Necro getting hammered as a class is painful, can’t move for shit I’m constantly ducking behind my minions for cover and hoping they attack the right enemy. Also I’m not even in wt3 yet and shit is getting difficult too manage, my golem goes stiff and doesn’t move sometimes and I have to bring him back from across the map. Why did they do this to us man

As a POE player, it is kind of sad to see all the same names at the top of the leaderboard no matter where I go. Some of these guys have nothing but time and win every event, its getting old. (carn, ziz, nugi, steel, ben, empy, ++)

False. My Blood Necro is perhaps actually unkillable…I use NO MINIONS…Blasphemy for a Necro? Absolutely…but it is so worth it!

It is still too early (level 40) but with time and higher level gear. I’m sure it will probably be the Strongest. I just wish I had more time to play. Using Guaranteed Overpower(Every 15 seconds of being HEALTHY and after 5 Blood Surge’s) and Blood Surge…I can just walk up to Mobs and Kill them all with just one tap. When against Bosses it is able to take massive Chunks out of them in an instant. For Survivability? It has what it needs: High Life(Stats), Heals (Iron Maiden, Blood Surge, Blood Mist) and Fortify (Hemorrage+Corpse Creation Passive adding Chance to fortify+25% chance of Fortifying 9% of your max health using Blood Skills)

Stat-wise I’m focusing on Willpower+Attack Speed+Overpower Damage(currently 258%)+Max Life+ Thorns+ Damage Up % and Damage Reduction.

Just bring back corpse Lance from D3 and Necromancer will be great again 😈

I played Necro to 50 at launch then switched to Druid and I don’t ever want to play another class after playing Druid it’s so fun.

Rather than nerf classes I’d love to see them buff the classes like necro to be where rogue is. Don’t need rogue

The top 4 was in a group, the barbarian carn was just playing a bit more solo when the other was sleeping. If he did not, the barbarian + druid + 2 sorc could have level to 100 at the same time. Gotta look at this for either solo or group combination. (and wudoji knew the game way more than others, he might have been first solo on any class he chose other than perhaps necro atm)

I’ve been playing semi casual on necro and have gotten to level 70. I have best in slot gloves and boots. But the class is so weak compared to everything else. I’ve done bone spear and bone spirit and both builds just get one shot in nightmare dungeons. It is anti-fun and I wish I made any other class, but I will just wait until season 1

Thing about necro is it requires a lot of build up to get its damage dealt. Sorc is kind of the same but not as extreme.

Plus the necro builds all seem to include the corpse explosion and tendrils, limiting build variety.

Necromancer isnt fluid enough and falls short in the endgame, Sorcs are waaaaay to mana hungry to sustain damage/survivability, druids are…yea no. Rogues are only as survivable as their mobility which leaves barbarian and their 7 or 8 nerfs, compliments of blizzard.

It seems that the developers created a minion specialization page for necromancers with the intention of making minions a defensive mechanic. However, managing them requires a lot of effort. After the minion nerf, they are now only secondary DPS, with bones or shadow being the primary focus.

Anyone down here in the comments recommend this mobalytics app I never really know rather to trust sponsored things like this on any channel 😊 but seems interesting and first hand experiences with it.

Sacrifice Necro is really strong when it comes to bursting down large packs of mobs or even elites. However it is also really gear and aspect dependent. The other builds just are too weak, especially the ones reliant on minions. Minions themselves are really weak and this become really apparent past level 40. Minions definitely need to be buffed in health/damage reduction department. Bone Spear needs to have the essence cost reduced from 25 to 15-18. It would also be great if they got some sort of Shielding ability, there are some aspects that offer this as a work around but they takeup a slot that would be better spent elsewhere. Bloodmist is good for escapes, corpse tendrils can slow/stun mobs, and Bonestorm has damage reduction but its not enough.

Playing a Necromain as Sacrifice will teach you how to Kite which will help you immensely.

Melee, no minion necro is actually tanky as all fuck. But it’s a necro, mobility is trash. I’d say even the damage of the build is on par with everything except the best druid builds and pre-nerf whirlwind.

Saying necro has no damage reduction abilities is just straight up wrong though. Decrypify is 20-25% damage reduction (depending on level). Bone Storm is 20% damage reduction, though it has a cooldown. If you are going no minion, you get 18% damage reduction passively. You can take another 6% DR from close. You can get fortify from corpse consumption, which makes you very tanky. Using a scythe gives you a large amount of Life on Kill, which still works well for large packs even into the endgame. You could play blood and fortify almost as well as a druid if you wanted to (lol blood is bad). If you play darkness (yay darkness) you get additional passive stuns. Necro has quite a few powerful defensive legendary aspects as well (Bone storm barrier is very powerful, especially if you also use the Blood Orbs reduce Ult CD aspect, even without any blood orb spawning support). Corpse tendrils is probably the best CC/Debuff button in the entire game.

Necro has extremely powerful defenses, just not if you’re playing Exactly Bone Spear, or minions. It also has insane grouping between Blight and Corpse Tendrils, and even Bone Prison if you want to. Some of the uniques can also enable some very broken shenanigans with necro. The fact that there isn’t a single darkness build on Mobalytics tells me all I need to know about whether I want to use that website lol.

Wudi was so exhausted I don’t think he even realized how many times he almost died from 98-100. So many times he would get unbelievably low and not even use a potion. So glad he made it, and his RIP was was tragic.

Meanwhile as the necromancers all lay in a pile in the same corner, their will to live completely sapped. Everyone else has mistaken them for dead, and so the pile will soon be burned. I do not understand why Blizzard decided to make the coolest class also be the worst at endgame. The only two builds even viable above tier 50 are bone spear and bone spirit, and even those become absolutely grueling to play once you hit 60+.

Honestly, playing necro to 50 3 and hitting torment, I tried sorc, and one of the biggest issues I found was that the necro kit just doesn’t feel fluid. Everything has categories, but it just doesn’t flow well, and our abilities cost so much that for any kind of sustain, you have to over invest or get lucky with that ONE resource item that works for the build to drop in order to finally not need to run in circles cause all our generators just feel pretty bad.(because you can’t get it through a dungeon)

this dude is smoking the devils lettuce. necro has no damage mitigation? lmao??? he has some of the better damage mitigation, only the op barb and druid beats necro in damage mitigation.
Deaths Embrace = 9% damage reduction from close, always active
Bone Storm = 15% damage reduction from all damage, active whenever you need it vs elites or whatever
Fortify = 10% damage reduction
access to many ways to self heal = helps deal with incoming damage
blood mist = best defensive ability in the game

if you have issues with necros damage mitigation then you wouldnt want to play rogue or sorc who will have a far harder time dealing with incoming damage.

Amazing skills of the people who played it for hundreds of hours before prelaunch , learnt all the glitch mechanics and abused them till no end . You did it guys. Awesome

druid+barb is easy to see how op they are compared to other classes by checking out pvp. most classes have abilities that close to one shot them, so for every class other than barb and druid its more or less a “oneshot or get one shot”, however the abilities that one shot every other class only deals like 20% to barb and druid, and barb can lifeleech to 100% instantly again.

if whirlwind barb is 10/10 in pvp then the second closest build is the druid with that earthwave ability at a 7/10 then every other classes big hitting build at 5/10 and necro at 3/10.

the whirlwind barb is more or less unkillable. it deals as much damage as anything else but it has at least 5x more tankyness + it recoups it entire lifepool every second it seems like meaning even if you chug them for huge chunk of health they instantly max health again. this is all after nerf. very op ability for sure.

for reference top 20 in pvpkills is 14 whirlwind barbarians, 2 TB rogues, 4 druids. rogue is a popular class in the game which is only reason theyre up there, every class except necro can one shot them, TB rogue isnt even very good in pvp as it cant oneshot anything, pen shot rogue is the pvp friendly rogue build as that can oneshot everything but druid+barb, but no one can one shot those.

Race isn’t really accurate since as noted necro lacks mobility; even if it had better tankiness and damage other classes would still dash/leap/tele/etc way faster to the next pack.

been using bone spear necro and im in WT3, the lack of mobility really makes everything feel like a slog, never had an issue with damage, survivability is meh at best, but manageable, but the sheer lack of mobility with the class makes it hard to want to play. you see every other class zooming around you and you feel like you did something wrong with your build

I think Blizzard need to take uses corpses to raise skeletons and turn it off and give it to necro like in D3 and have necro use corpses to raise mages which I totally understand but it’s crazy to have to use 9 corpses to raise all ur minions if you want to run a summoner build. Necro has always been my favorite class but I haven’t been playing it for the past few days cause I made a Druid and have been playing g that and having a blast. Necro just felt like a chore to play and I wasn’t having fun like I always did playing the class which really sucks cause I want to play necro. I’ve been playing necro since D2

I feel like it’s not too late for blizzard to revert the Necromancer’s Skeletons back to what they we’re in the open beta. If Necromancer plays better sacrificing their minions then I should instead play a Sorcerer.

Having to consistently resurrect minions can be frustrating early game but less annoying later in the game when you have more summon passives and legendaries to help with minions.

I have a really OP Necro build by the looks of it isn’t very common but it works fine for me. My Necromancer is good at massive AOE and killing things very fast. It is also very tanky. But lacks mobility.

6:45 You say he almost died there multiple times but he was almost full hp the whole time. The red bar was going going down because he was getting poisoned more and more but the green poisoned health is still part of his hp bar. He might’ve dropped down to like 70% hp there.

I kinda dislike you cant trade legendaries with people you group with. My boots was lvl 22 and i have only found the special ability they got this ONE time , Which i rerolled onto another pair of boots around 45. And im lvl 62 now and still havent found a secound copy of that special ability. (Yes i know dungeon has them, but also lowest % then !)

Meanwhile my friends playing same class as me have found it several times, but i got some they havent found yet.
