I remember when people played to actually have fun rather than being a movement sweat and worrying about how fast you move. So tired of the people that have to use “meta” weapons and sweat because they don’t have a life, or can’t play a game casually cause sweating is all they know.

Shotguns are very useful for no filling tho because of the ability to peek shoot. Not many weapons can put out 70-100 damage without taking any in return if you have a door to use.

You play your kit and cards to your advan. I mainly run hem/mastiff and primarily use my hem for majority ranges. I only ever pull my mastiff out when they are dead in my face and typically 7/10 shots I hit 88 with mastiff.

It’s more so about how you play the kit you are delt. Don’t be caught dead in the water with no cover, if you see a push for your cover, prepare to use the shotty. If you are playing range with a shotty, you’re losing.

I cant hit shit for the pk tho, was a big gib main for a bit so I got comfy with the mastiff.

These are the best guns for corner peaking, bubble fighting, Newcastle shield play, zipline movement, etc.

This is not good for pro style play which is long, drawn out, usually at range for most of the game, and then at the end, DPS dependant.

For any movement player, casual pub player, and ranked player, the shotgun meta is very much alive due to the much larger variety of play styles and character encounters. Gibby/Newcastle aren’t really meta in pro play but you run into them a lot more in pubs/ranked. Zipline movement plays are also seemingly pretty absent from pro play too, but every movement player in pubs does it all day every day lol.

This is strictly talking about pro play which plays wildly different than even ranked does.

I’m 5kd player in apex, and i never use shotguns. At first i need to specify, that i spend to much time in game and in kovaaks, thats why its not hard for me to oneclip. I analyse my game, and understand that with smg or ar my gameplay become more stable then with shotgun. If u playing with pk for example, there’s no margin for error, u are fighting in close range and if ur enemy is a roller or a cool mnk player and u missed 1-2 shots – u died bruh. R99 for me is much better, cause its the fastest ttk in the game, and as the guy in the video said, more distant range is much better. BUT if u are really cool shotgun player, u know how to combine wall bounce and tapstrafe, how to superglide, u have to keep playing like this, cause its so effective and fun.

Dif you’re fighting in the open with a PK you need to reassess how you play the game. You should always be playing around cover with a PK, and even with a mastiff, your at a huge advantage when you can peak and deal burst damage.

Mad Maggie right now is ridiculous. Not only do you get faster run speed with the shotty out but you can upgrade to reloads on knocks, being an assault legend she gets to stack ammo meaning you only need 2 shotty stacks, on top of that she opens bins guarantying upgrades, plus her ult can be offensive , defensive and used for movement. Add on top of that an extra tactical.

The peacekeeper can best any smg in the right place i always run doubble smg or pk smg there is no downside since if somone is long range i dont peak them. Its easy to hit 70-100 with the pk most shots if you actually only shoot when you are dead centre people conplain about hitting 9s bit 99% of the time its just bad aim.

Mastiffs are IMO better than PK. Consistent high dmg and better hit spread. You can take out a player in 3-4 hits. Better than SMG if you have decent movement.

My fav loadout currently is what I call “the gremlin” Its an RE 45 and mozambique. You just push, all the time. Get up in they grill burst em down with the RE then plant some mozam blasts in they face to finish it.

wrong, its because they all are switching (most of them already did) to controller, and the best weapons to abuse aim assist are rapid firing weapons and weapons with lots of bullets (basically weapons that requiere tracking) meaning shotguns are worthless with aim assist, remember when they were mostly playing on MnK? yeah all 3 shotguns were meta at some point ( yeah mozambique doesnt count), and no is not “hating” on aim assist, yes i do hate that everyone is taking the easy route with soft aimbot instead of actually leraning to improve (talking about the normal player, i understand that pros play for money and id also take every single advantage i could, be ratting, scummy combos or straight up soft aimbot) but this time its pure facts simple as that, before anyone comment “its just hate” just go and compare clips from pros who were on m&k and switched to controller, come back here with average hit per mag and theres your answer, you can be the best player to ever exist and still miss a few bullets on m&k, not because you are bad at aiming/tracking but because you have to literally predict the enemies movement, and sometimes stuff gets in your way, termites, character skills or just wonky animations for certain character that makes it impsible to predict, on controller? everything said above is irrelevant, it keeps tracking in those situations you just have to guide it, sometimes you dont even see the enemy behind something like 2 termites stacked, and aim assist just doesnt care, pair that auto tracking with the hit number and you dont need to see the enemy at all to kill them.

If you pk for 80 and slide in with the smg he’s done. I approach fights the same shotgun bolt or not. Oh won’t have long range. Well without a shorty you have NO face to face. I thought it’s just a preference thing. I tried playing Apex again around a week ago and felt that shotguns are shitty af. On the other hand, the two guns I hated to use 30-30 and hemlok, are my favorites now lmao

Pk with digital and nemisis with 2x is to good, if your aim is good enough you can use the nemesis from pretty far away

I run 301 or flatline with a pk, doing just fine sitting at diamond 3 rn 🤷

Any “Pro”that has to rely on using strictly full auto weapons and cant even use an unhopped shotgun in close quarters effectively isnt that good.

Lol the apex community loves to hype up players who consistently go for the most Broken loadouts and claim them as gods😂😂

Keep in mind that this dosent apply to legends with good movement abilities like path or octane, they control how close they can get and can outrun someone trying to escape, meaning they will remain within shotgun lethality range

And the biggest reason for carrying a shotgun isnt to fire it multiple times, its to land 1 extremely heavy shot before switching to your AR to clean up, PK+ r301/flatline on someone like octane is devastating because that 1 tap crack on push puts them in heavy danger, a single volley of fire from your other gun will down them

Used to hate shotguns in any game. Decided to learn how to use them effectively in Apex, and now… Now I love shotguns. That even made me better with snipers (which I always preferred) at short range. How the turntables, right?

Question fellas, what smgs are you guys running this season? The R9 and CAR have genuinely felt so terrible to use I’ve started pretty much only running shotgun and flatline secondaries instead lol.

Just increase the range for shotguns but at further range have the dmg drop off, they could also do the thing Fortnite did with their shotguns whereas you never hit for 9 it will at least always be 30 or something around that

The problem with shotguns is if you increase their effective range they could very easily become overpowered but if you increase their damage they become 2 shot kills on most armor levels. Like with the carepackage pk and mastiff.

This is not why we use the shotgun it’s because u can hit a Gud 90 without exposing yourself if u do it right way harder to do with an smg
